I previously had an attorney for a criminal case who gave me very unrealistic expectations of what I could expect in court. I was potentially looking at five years in jail. When my previous attorney dropped the ball, I found Colleen Kirby and Price Benowitz LLP online and left a message. Colleen called me back and went out of her way to help me out right off the bat. She came off as very professional and level headed. I was scheduled to have a jury trial and had a meeting with Colleen face to face beforehand. I felt very comfortable with Colleen and her decision making. She gave me a realistic expectation of what was going on with my case. Colleen understood how frustrated I was and never backed down. Colleen made the state’s attorney’s office open their eyes and was able to get most of the charges dismissed. I’ll hopefully never have a need to, call Colleen again, but if I ever need to she’s my number one choice. It’s because of Colleen’s work that I am not in jail. I have the utmost respect for her.

If you are reading this you have the right attorney! Colleen Kirby is no halfhearted attorney and not only in the field for the money. This woman knows how to get the facts out that the judge wants to hear. I was fare from being guilty of a second degree assault of a security guard who turned out to be a Howard county police officer. I was looking at prison and fines both in large numbers. I spoke with attorney after attorney. Attorney Kirby cost was more than most I spoke with, but worth more than I could have ever paid. She was spot on in court with all the right words. We call attorney’s mouth pieces and this woman will tie them up and feed them back their own words. I was worried the entire time about what was going to happen. I’m from out of state and it’s going to be election year. Attorney Kirby had a lot going on and I was worried if she had the time, is she going to be focused on my case, I even questioned if a woman was going to be the right person for me in this case. Well, let me tell you without any doubt Colleen Kirby was hired by her firm because she has the smarts and the guts to stand up for you. She has the respect of the court and her colleges. You hire Colleen Kirby and I believe you will have hired one of Ellicott City finest attorney’s. I was found not guilty and that says a lot.
