I was represented by the firm for a workers compensation case, these cases take time especially when it results in surgery and prolonged medical or therapy treatments. I have never had this sort of case before and I didn't to know what to expect so there were many unknowns, but I did expect to know details, have thorough communication and premier preparedness before, during and after all hearings. I suggest that you (the client) make a list of your questions and make it clear that you want details of how your case is going to be processed, tell the firm that you want each step explained to you in layman terms so that you know and understand what is being done, the reason why its being done that way and what is next in the chain of events. I suggest that you keep records of your questions and all communication responses that you receive, (date and time of any and all calls/emails/messages/documents, your questions asked and answers if given) If you don't do this you will find yourself in many unpleasant situations without proof of what you were told. I suggest that you do your research as well. You need to know what the laws/rules/protection/processing of your type of case in your state. Communication with explanation is very important and understanding what is going on and what the other side is going to try to get you to settle for, be educated to the game, .... you have to be happy with the future, SO NEVER settle for less than you should, Know Your Value and What Your Body Injuries Are Worth there is a body part injury scale that is used to determine the price for each body part and its best to know your percentage of disability as determined by your evaluating physician. Insist on full and timely communication with explanations and nothing less. Some of this was satisfactory and some of it was not... I hope knowing this information will prepare clients no matter what their case type might be and firm in their servicing of all clients.
