They are really caring, and don't let you wait and wait to get a phone call back, I have been using this business since the 1960s

To the reply: Maybe you should state prior to the call that you do not do free consultations. I do not think anyone would appreciate a bill larger than what they make in a week showing up for a 17 min phone call. We were referred to Dave Zessin and had less than 20 minute phone call with him on 9/23/22 after he stated "he had a minute to talk". After talking he said his assistant would send over the rates and retainer agreement the following week, which she did on 9/27/22. We decided to pass as the rates were not within our budget and DID NOT sign the agreement or have any other correspondence. On November 2nd we were invoiced a bill for $388 (which is greater than his hourly rate sent to us), billing for the phone call and additional work he did on 9/29. We called on November 7th to ask about this bill and got no follow up, so we called again on November 11th and were told Mr. Zessin doesn't do free consults. We asked why he didn't disclose that to us during our conversation and were just told that that was unfortunate. This business is unethical and manipulative. I would stay away.

Cunningham Dalman, and especially attorney, Haans Mulder, has been such a gift to our family. They have guided us through estate planning with the complexities of aging parents with dementia as well as making plans that will provide for our growing children. We turned to them when some complex real estate transactions were needed. They have helped us make changes to earlier plans as life evolved. The specialty Haans provides of understanding the evolving nature of elder care law has been a particular asset to our planning. And the personal care and attention around difficult life moments like an unexpected loss of a parent was deeply appreciated.

My wife and I picked elder law attorney Jessica Arends for our personal estate planning. She has been a pleasure to work with helping make the whole process very understandable. Since then we have used her to help with my parents estate. She and her staff have been very instrumental in navigating the Medicaid process and dealing with Social Security and the VA. I can't say enough good things about Jessica and the other great people at Cunningham Dalman. They are all personable, knowledgable and willing to do the extra work to find the answer if they don't know it. They truely care.

I was referred to Cunningham Dalman by an employee of another legal firm who had hired them for her own personal needs. She recommended them highly. Our case was a complex inheritance matter that involved three parties and was further complicated by all members being in different states. The attorneys assigned to our case were Nicholas Dekker and Vincent Duckworth. Their assistants are Emily Hovinga and Kristi Slagh. All these individuals were professional, friendly, understanding, patient, kind, cooperative, and most importantly looked out for our best interests. Most legal matters take time and can be stressful. Having this wonderful team from Cunningham Dalman made our difficult situation the best it could be. I recommend them highly.

The staff was wonderful to work with, both well informed and informative, and the outcome that was achieved was more than satisfactory.

Hans Mulder and his assistants were extremely helpful to my wife and me with getting our Trust issues in order. Everything was presented in a clear and concise manner which was greatly appreciated.
