I retained Howard Collens to represent me in the estate of my former husband. It was a complicated situation, requiring legal counsel and assistance in Michigan, Nebraska and Texas. Howard expertly managed the everything from probate to conservatorships to managing the estate. Howard Collens is a highly qualified and competent attorney. I met him several years ago when I was taking a continuing legal education refresher class in probate law and process. Mr. Collens was one of the speakers. I found him to be personable and knowledgeable. I was comfortable enough with Mr. Collens that I referred a client to him. The client had a legal issue with a family trust with significant assets at stake and no easy solution in sight. Because of a conflict of interest, I could not handle the matter, but I had confidence Mr. Collens could. As it turned out, Mr. Collens and opposing counsel asked me to mediate a resolution. I found Mr. Collens was well prepared for the process. He assessed the legal situation, determined the most effective strategy and effectively cut through to the key points.
