Dan Harris , It’s horrible that a tragedy like this is how we all had to meet although so u know I will be forever grateful that I chose to come meet with you that day , you have went above and beyond taking care of our family and if my mother was here she would be absolutely amazed with the work you have done securing a brighter future for not only her 3 surviving children but her grandchildren hopefully as well . So I cannot say it enough from all of us thank you to you ,and all of your staff . I know so many have worked very hard on this and putting in all of the phone calls and long hours etc . From the bottom of our hearts Harris Law has became like family to us now and we are so blessed to have you all ! 🤗

I unfortunately went through a pretty nasty divorce and use Harris law firm with Kyle Ortiz representing me. I called all over northern Michigan looking for a divorce attorney. Everyone I called either never called me back, or were very unprofessional. Kyle immediately returned my phone call and was one of the more professional people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. After receiving phone calls back from other local lawyers bad mouthing Kyle I decided to stick with him and I’m glad I did. After several property disputes, Kyle was able to negotiate a very reasonable deal and tied up the divorce in about three months time which is about the fastest you can get in the state of Michigan. His prices were very reasonable, and I wouldn’t suggest using anybody other than him.

Kyle Ortiz and his staff was great to work with. He is a great listener and performed very professionally in court. His attention to detail and easy-going attitude with me as his client allowed us to win our case with the least amount of added stress in the court room. I was dealing with a contract dispute with a contractor at the start of 2021. After interviewing a handful of attorneys, I settled on Harris Law because of my initial consultation with Maureen Connaughton. She gave me the impression that she cared about my situation. I began working with Maureen in May of 2021, when I had made it clear that my full intent was to sue the contractor for my financial losses if we could not get a settlement. When we started, she advised me to pursue the contractor’s insurance company for compensation first. This tactic did not make sense to me, but I trusted her judgement and agreed to try that prior to initiating litigation. Meanwhile, we obtained a verbal agreement from the contractor that he was willing to settle and pay the amount per the demand letter via a flexible payment plan. Again, Maureen did not pursue this, and instead focused on the insurance company. I trusted her guidance. After months of Maureen communicating with the insurance company, I received an update from her on October 1, 2021 that no progress was being made with the insurance company and that she could no longer work with me because she does not have time for litigation. At the same time, she recommended another attorney outside of Harris Law. She literally quit after wasting 6 months of time. I had been billed nearly $2K for Maureen’s services, which consisted mainly of email and phone communications with the insurance company, billed at $250/hr. During my time working with Maureen, it was nearly impossible to reach her because the only contact phone number that I had was the main office. On one occasion it took me a week to get a hold of her; after I did, there was absolutely no acknowledgement on her part that it was unacceptable for her to take that long to respond. Communicating with Maureen was so challenging that I started feeling that maybe I was in the wrong in all of this. Cut to the beginning of 2022, when I hired another attorney. He was easy to work with and he helped me obtain the original demand amount. It took another 9 months (thus why I am finally writing this review), but it is finally over. There is some irony in dealing with Maureen. In our very first conversation, she was empathetic to what happened to me with the contractor. Interestingly, I feel like she did the exact same thing – promised one thing, did not deliver, and walked away with a decent chunk of money. Final note – the reason why I am giving Harris Law two stars instead of one is because Dan Harris took over after Maureen quit and I complained. He attempted to obtain a quick resolution by reaching out to the insurance company again without charging me. We did not get anywhere, but some effort was there.

Awful law firm, awful representation! What was made out to be a straight forward case ended up losing more by having this law firm represent us than had we done it ourselves. And cost thousands of dollars for bad representation. If I could give 0 stars I would

From the first conversation, Jon Steffy inspired a sense of confidence. I relied on his calm and reasonable demeanor, his experience in the judicial system, and his team's excellent communication to navigate my first (and hopefully only) experience in the court system.

When I needed legal services, Harris Law was the only firm anyone I asked mentioned and Jon Steffy was recommended by name each and every time. Jon was great to work with and could not have handled my case any better. His understanding of the law and relationships helped provide me with the best outcome. I could not imagining ever using anyone else in the future.

My Harris Law Attorney, John Steffy deserves a 5 Star recommendation. I was impressed by both his professionalism and common sense advice. John was consistent and clear in his communication nd in pursuing an outcome that was in my best interest even though it required a significant investment of time and energy on his part. I believe that John Steffy has a very bright future and anyone engaging his legal services will be treated fairly and receive his best effort.

Terribly incompetent lawyer. Unable to review evidence. No due process of law. How can a law firm have such despicable actions.
