After meeting with three family law lawyers, Pitler Family Law was clearly head and shoulders above the rest. Although I am sure Mr. Pitler has heard hundreds of variations of my story, he was patient, gave me all the time I needed, asked a few questions, then explained clearly what my rights were and what my expectations should be. When dealing with the other lawyer Mr. Pitler was firm, professional and never let an issue become a fight between lawyers. His knowledge of the law helped guide me and the other lawyer to an amicable out-of-court settlement. When I needed legal advice five years later, I called Pitler Family Law immediately. I consulted with several lawyers before I was referred to Randy. The other lawyers made me feel physically sick about the already terrible divorce process. Randy spoke to me in a way that let me know that I could “run the show” the way I felt best and that he would have my back...and that is EXACTLY how the process went. Randy also introduced me to the idea of the Collaborative Divorce process. Randy and the team (collaborative involves both parties having an attorney certified in the collaborative divorce process, along with a mental health professional, and a neutral financial consultant) helped us navigate the divorce process in the most positive way possible. The collaborative process takes away the the ugliness of what most believe the divorce process to hold. “Filing” is done at the end of a series of well-managed meetings of both parties and the team where you come to an agreement that keeps your focus on what is important (kids, other family members, whatever it is that you agree on). I highly recommend Randy, especially because of his competence and exceptional knowledge of the collaborative process and his ability to keep us true to the positive process that it is.
