As I was nearing my PhD graduation, I was looking for an attorney with sufficient experience to file for my NIW. A friend of mine recommended me Ellis Porter firm. I contacted Andy Ingebritson directly and he asked me to send him information about my education and career. In the meantime, I also contacted 2 other law firms. The part that impressed me the most was that he was willing to go through multiple rounds of communication without any cost to me even before I finalized him. So I retained Mr. Brown late in my case after I had already plead guilty to a probation violation following a date to be sentenced the recommendation was for me to serve some jail time mind you I had multiple violations. After calling 10 different lawyers after speaking with Chris he made the decision very easy I could tell just based off our first phone call that he was honest straight to the point and holds a truthful mutual respect and relationship with these circuit-District judges Chris went out of his way to get my case adjourned so he could get caught up to speed with my case after doing so my date of sentencing comes I show up at court never in my life have I walked into court and have seen the judge within not even 10 mins of stepping into the building so we go in and Mr Brown gets my probation file closed he was so well spoken with the judge I could tell that the judge had a high amount of respect for him as she took everything he said into consideration so as of now I am all set I’m off probation thanks to Mr Brown I would highly recommend Chris he is easy to get ahold of and every single phone call I made to him he was able to give me at least 30 mins of his time if not more even when he was slammed busy and never once has he rushed me off the phone this guy is great at what he does and just a straight shooter so again I would highly recommend Chris and by the way I was on probation in Troy with judge Hartig she has a reputation to be a little harder then other judges at times

I write this review having already begun working with Ellis Porter to adjust my status in the U.S. based on my I-140 approval. I went to EP for my I-140 filing and am so happy I did! I was privileged to work with attorney Sean Stork on the I-140. Sean and his paralegal, Emily, took charge of my case and spared no effort making sure everything I gave them would work perfectly for the category I was pursuing (National Interest Waiver). Really, I couldn’t be more pleased with or impressed by their work; they knocked it out of the park. I retained Ellis Porter because I thought they will provide speedy and decent service, but I am very disappointed after I started working with them. Based on my friends' experience with all other law firms, normally it should only take 2-3 weeks for an attorney to draft the recommendation letters. I don't understand why Ellis Porter's attorney needs so much longer time to finish my letters! I waited for more than 1 month! And when I requested them to speed up, I waited for a long time to get their replies that they cannot due to case loading. When I finally received the letters after a long waiting time, the quality is not good, either. Another problem is that there are many mistakes in their documents, such as copy and paste in the letters which I had to rewrite all of them from the beginning. They don't even bother to check the typos or correct names of the recommenders. Moreover, when they found out the mistakes, the also didn't even accept the mistakes or apologize. I need to follow up and follow up over and over again to get my questions answered and they even procrastinate to ship the notice from their office in order to file my I-485. My case was supposed to be a straightforward case, but due to their gross mistakes, they delayed me at least 1 year comparing to other people that used other attorneys or worked on their own. It's a nightmare to use Ellis Porter and they eventually wasted a lot of my time.

It is my pleasure to share my experience with Ellis Porter from the core of my heart. Sean Stork was my lawyer on my EB2-NIW and EB-1A petitions. He along with Emily Sofia smith did a wonderful job on both my applications. I received an I-140 approval without an RFE. For me, this is a dream come true.
