This is a personal review, it is based on my personal experience with one of the lawyer at this firm (HEATHER GARVOCK), I went to her for consultation after my Asylum case has been denied in the Asylum office and been referred to the immigration court, I went to ask her if I could adjust my status (get green card) based on EB2 (employment based green card), 3 to 10 years bar entry to U.S, EAD renewal and some other questions.
At the end of the consultation when I was about to leave she suggested that If I agree to share my Notice of Intent of Deny (NOID) from my denied Asylum case with her she will evaluate my Asylum case in return for free. Just to clarify the Notice of Intent of Deny (NOID) is a document that states the reasons why you are not illegible for Asylum in details and what are the factors that the person who make a decision rely on to make his decision, and as lawyers know that one of the factors that deciding your asylum case is the asylum officer or the judge who is been assigned to your case, so understanding and analyzing how this Officer thinks regarding Asylum and what the factors he relies on to make his decision could help lawyers in preparing their Asylum cases and the NOID has all these details and information that could be helpful for Lawyers, another thing only small percentage ( like 5%) of Asylum applicants get the NOID because your case should be denied while you are in valid non-immigration status to get it otherwise if you were approved you will not get it and if you have been denied while you are out of status you will get a referral notice to the court and neither one of them has the detailed information that's available in the NOID, that’s the reason why she wanted to have my NOID and in return she supposed to evaluate my Asylum case for free based on her suggestion.
I agreed and emailed her my NOID the day after our meeting, I waited for 2 months without hearing anything back from her so I sent her another email to remind her that I did not hear anything back from her regarding my case evaluation, now It is been one month since I sent her my second email and 3 months since I sent her my NOID without hearing anything back from her, Its clear now that she lied to me to get what she wanted without giving me what she promised she would in return, The good thing about this experience it showed me that she is a dishonest and not trustworthy person and give me a warning to not go any further and hire her for any immigration issue that I could have, in my opinion when you hire a lawyer make sure to hire an honest person you could trust, not someone who lie to you, take advantage of you and give you false promises.
