Recently I went through the ugly and sad ordeal of a divorce. I hired Merlyn to represent me. Merlyn and his staff patiently walked me through the steps needed to prepare for the divorce. It was an overwhelming process and I had numerous questions. Every question and/or issue was explained in a caring manner without condescension. Merlyn was direct and honest with me, even when it was not always what I wanted to hear. I was "sweating the small stuff" whereas Merlyn saw the "big picture." That being said, Merlyn addressed my concerns and wanted me to be at peace with every decision. Merlyn is a knowledgeable and experienced lawyer. Combine that with a compassionate and sincere heart and you get a lawyer that you can completely trust.

Merlyn Meinerts was my family law attorney from 2014 through 2017 in a complicated family law/custody case. Merlyn achieved the results I wanted with his hard work and efforts. His staff is also incredible and very responsive. Merlyn represented me in a complicated family court case starting in 2014 through 2017. He was able to be creative to get the results we needed and worked with the court staff to help get the information we needed. He also helped me understand the process and what to expect. His staff is also amazing and listen to my position and helped with documents when needed. They are all very responsive and timely. When I searched for a divorce lawyer 4 years ago, I did the whole ‘free hour’ tour of consultations and met with 5 different attorneys. I did this to not only get a consensus on what my situation would involve, but everything that may result from this process and to find out how they we’re going to get me the best, fair deal possible. Merlyn Meinerts not only stood out from them all, but proved later to be miles above and 3 steps ahead of the others. As soon as you walk into any mediation session or any court room, Merlyn’s stature instantly attracts immediate respect and poise. As a physically intimidating man to some, his years of experience and negotiating / courtroom prowess are second to none. To this day I still remember the look on my ex’s face as it instantly turned from a ‘Haha, I got this’ to an ‘Ohh damn’ as we walked in the door. Even better was her lawyers face did the exact same thing. That moment along with the results Merlyn was able to deliver are priceless. My advice to all – just meet with him and you will see for yourself. He’s extremely matter of fact with compassion for you and your situation rolled into one. He will tell you what the law states, what he can do and what he can’t do, so there is no false expectations. However his true craft is being able to forecast every opponent’s move and then telling you what his next three moves will be for the win. It’s so amazing it makes me wish I had popcorn to enjoy while it all plays out right in front of you. Remember, it takes twice as much effort to get something back that was lost or taken from you. So set the tone right away.

Merlyn Meinerts is not only a skilled professional attorney; he is compassionate. When I began to cry in our first meeting, the Kleenex was pushed my direction, and I was allowed to cry. I felt completely heard and understood from the moment I stepped into his office. He represented me in my 2010 divorce. I was given excellent advice and wise counsel. When going through a divorce, you question EVERYTHING. Merlyn provided me the support I needed. To this day, I believe I have recommended him to at least 8 people. Mr. Meinerts was my attorney in recent matter where we had to enforce a 24 year old judgment and decree to have my ex-wife sign a quit claim deed for our homestead. He did not handle the divorce years ago. My ex-wife would not sign the quit claim deed despite my requests to get her to do so, even when I pointed out the clear language in the divorce degree. This caused me a lot of stress. Merlyn took charge and knew what needed to be done to achieve the result I wanted. In the process, he and his very competent staff reduced my level of stress and kept me fully informed, even speaking to me after normal work hours. Merlyn filed the necessary motion to compel my former wife to sign the quit claim deed. The result was terrific as she signed the quit claim deed. I highly recommend Merlyn Meinerts. He is an excellent, knowledgeable, and hard working attorney.
