Working with Emily was a disaster. She did not spend the proper amount of time reviewing my case, she missed important deadlines and when I tried to call her to follow up or remind her of the deadlines she was off on vacation (this happened 3 times). I was told once that she was out sick but then saw on her Facebook that is was actually on vacation. In the end I got screwed as she was not prepared for a court case and I had to settle with my ex, agreeing to his terms. Her paralegal had great communication so I explained to her why I was withdrawing from the representation agreement. Then I got a e-mail from Emily saying she was offended. Well if you just would have done your job we both would have had a better outcome.

The positive- she is very affordable based on income.. However, if given the chance again I would hire someone else. She was not prepared in court (I had to actually remind her there was a DANCO-it was like she showed up without even reading my file), and was TERRIBILE with communication. Not a people person. Gave me conflicting/incorrect information a few different times. Many mistakes on my paperwork. I had to do many things myself, or she put stuff off for months-she missed deadlines. Doesn't call you back. The person who referred me to her said "she really sucks but shes cheap" lol For follow up problems/appearances, I have used David Cox in Otsego and LOVED him- and he also was flexible with payment options! Bottom line- I used Emily because I didn't realize I could afford a better attorney- If I knew others also had payment options, I would have used anyone else! She was absolutely awful!

Emily and her team SAVED me and my family from financial ruin with their sliding scale prices. She was able to work quickly with my case and we got everything we asked for (and more) when we went to court.
