I had very little time to find a lawyer to cover my custody case. Cynthia was one of three lawyers I spoke to and I knew she would be the right fit for me. My case was pending for almost a year and a half. It was extremely long and Cynthia was there every step of the way. As an advisor, she always recommended taking the higher road and I respected her for that. She thinks about the big picture, even when you're unable to do so in the moment. She genuinely cared about the outcome for my child. She'd write or call even if it wasn't convenient for her and even if it was "I just saw your email, I will get back to you". She was upfront and honest about how legal procedures work so that I could make the best choices on creating a plan for our future. I was not an easy client, pretty demanding actually and she handled it extremely well. I am so grateful for her hard work.

I retained Ms. Albin to file for an adjustment on my child support payments. A very straightforward process. When we met, she said that the guidelines for child support had been drastically reduced, and I expected this to be a fairly easy process. After I turned in my initial papers, I received an email from her that said "I see you got all your papers in. Does that mean that you and your wife have reconciled?" I was confused, and wrote back saying so. Her response was "Oh, I'm so embarrassed. I confused your name with someone else." This made me apprehensive, but I thought it was one mistake, let it go. Then, after my ex-wife got her papers into Ms. Albin, I receive an email saying "this doesn't look good. Your ex and you are not on the same page. I don't know how you are going to pay for the children's college education." After reading this, I was totally flabbergasted and confused. She said I could call her the next day at noon to discuss. I did, she was unavailable. I wrote her two emails, she didn't respond. Whether my ex and I are "on the same page" has nothing to do with the amount dictated by the state that I should be paying. And college expenses? We did not even discuss this. Very unorganized and unprofessional attorney.
