Divorce is never a fun event to go through in life for anyone. It is a very emotional period for anyone going through it and if the wrong decisions are made it can wreak havoc in both your personal and financial life for many years to come. I learned this the hard way when I initially went through my divorce without representation thinking I could trust my ex-spouse and that we would have an amicable separation and agree to equitable time with our daughter. Wil Halaz represented me in a difficult divorce. Many of us who have been through family litigation know it is often the most trying times of our lives. Decisions on who you chose are very tough to make, especially when emotions are high. Based off of a referral I chose Cordell and Cordell, specifically Brittany Brown. From the beginning Brittany provided me with “best practice” advice and continued to do the same throughout our case. She was extremely personable and epitomized what I envisioned a well calculated and professional attorney she be. Always available for consult to answer my many, many questions; on the rare event she was not immediately available, Brittany always made sure to return my call/email/request in the most expeditious of manners. Her honesty, hard work ethic and genuine demeanor kept me positive throughout the entire process. I have since referred several close friends/colleagues and will continue do so as a result of her tremendous work.

I am currently in the process of divorce. So far my meetings with Susan have been quite encouraging. Both conversations left me feeling relief. Her office staff and legal assistants are also very professional and available. I read a review stating she made suggestions the client would never do. Yes, Susan made a suggestion that I declined to take, but only due to timing. I wish I had gone to her PRIOR to leaving my home. I would have taken her advice. Advice no one ever gave me before and I didn't know was an option. They have not done or suggested anything that seemed to be financially fueled and there are plenty of opportunities to do so in my case. They even talked me out of one idea stating it wasn't necessary. While I have already noticed my husbands lawyer doing unnecessary things that will increase HIS costs. I highly suggest meeting with her prior to acting if you are thinking about divorce. It is a free consultation, but she spent a very significant amount of time with me. I will update my review after the divorce is final, but, so far I have been smiling!
