Matt Higgins is the guy you want on your side, period!! Him and his team are very knowledgeable, understanding and to the point. I refer him to anyone needing his services. In fact, truth be told, my ex wife refers him and she was on the loosing end.

If you need representation Cody is your guy. Fair, honest and get's the job done. What else is there to say?

************** Buyer Beware! ******************** The Google reviews for this attorney show he has been in business for 15 (2009) years. Google reviews have been around since 2007. It begs the question why there are only 32 reviews in all those years? 32 reviews in 15 years? 4 of the positive ones are from the last year, OVER HALF of them are from 2-5 years ago! He shared that he is 4 years from retirement, buyer beware, it seems he is phasing out in his career and would not be able to complete any case requiring longetivity or give much care as evidenced in these reviews ...or travel to Lincoln, for that matter. I filled out my intake, paid my consult fee of $150 in advance, drove to Omaha from Lincoln, he showed up 10 minutes late disrespecting my time, didn't even apolgize or acknolwedge it, he was not prepared, obvioiusly did not reivew the necessary case files from the ROA or Justice (which is part of the purpose of advanced payment). Asked *me* for the basic documents (motion) and he struggled to stay on topic for current matters for an upcoming hearing, by continuing to ask questions about closed case matters not necessary to understand the current matter. (ex's income) I felt uncomfortable at the waste of time of digging back too far when those case matters were closed. The work is already completed and other testimony firmly on record. Then he terminated the meeting early telling me he would not take the case, alleging that I argued with him. Why do arrogant people consider asking questions to seek understanding "arguing"? It appears that any questions of an attorney to better understand matters is a grave act of defiance....but yet they demand $10K - "just fork it over, and ask no questions and don't hold me accountable." Madness. The hearing I sought help on, which is 1/2 completed! Mr. Higgins wanted to charge $10k for 1/2 of a single hearing for Defense to testify. So a two hour drive round trip, two hour hearing, 6-8 hours to prepare ? That is $1,000 to $1,250/HOUR. If that isn't unethical billing or price gouging, then I don't know what is - or how it is not exploiting a desperate client. The matter certainly doesn't warrant that kind of rate. (3-501.5. Fees. (a) A lawyer shall not make an agreement for, charge, or collect an unreasonable fee or an unreasonable amount for expenses.) He gave advice on specific language in a document (when the meeting was over I called back up to ask for clarifcation on that specific issue, expressing disappointment that I didn't get the full hour consult. He later sends a letter stating that this "criticism" would not be given an answer, nor would he give "new" advice --when I simply asked for the answer within the time I paid for to be clarified. I was in his office sobbing, feeling defeated and depleted. It seems this attorney has one foot in the door to work and one alraeady out of the door to retire. In the letter he sent, alleges I "sent" a letter criticizing him. No such letter was ever sent. I did reply to his rejection letter with equal firmness in his rejection of the case and asserted I cannot work with the "deficits of lack of humility and humblness, rather arrogance." I am sick to death of lawyers - they serve no good purpose except to rob you of your money and make you feel like a royal POS and about as big as a gnat. There is a REASON Lancaster County boasts 80-85% Pro Se rate! The few left who can afford it, aren't asking the hard questions for accountability and transparency.

Today I attended court with my attorney Cody Miltenberger….this man single-handedly saved my family and sent me home. I was facing a lot of time and due to the diligent work of Miltenberger Law Offices I was given a chance to keep living and achieving. Cody cares…he listens he works to understand and he will not beat around the bush ….so I’m tellin u take it from a man who lives in Missouri…in another state…..whose house just burned down……a man who’s wife and daughter where at risk while he defended their lives ….Mr. Miltenberger (lol as he hates to be called) is the best Attorney I have ever met…… if I ever need another A+++++ Attorney in Nebraska I’m only calling Miltenberger Law

In 3 days I had consultations with 20 different lawyers, looking for the best representation for my husband. I talked to Cody Miltenberger early on and was impressed. I continued to call every law office I could find, however Cody was clearly in a different league.
