I should have seen the warning signs early on, but gave her the benefit of the doubt, which was a mistake. She was late to deliver on the agreed ask from the first time we met. She then charged me for having to explain the situation over a call because she forgot what to do. She provided little advice, I had to frame up our whole argument to the opposing party. Despite this, she did the minimum and drafted up a very simple and inarticulate response. I continued work with her as I was already committed and this was an important matter that needed to be resolved quickly. She promised to deliver within a few days. Weeks went by, and I received no word, despite following up on three separate occasions including email and phone call message. She finally responds with “I’m working on this tomorrow”. I once again received no word and had to follow up. After receiving nothing, I had to move on and get a new attorney. She offered no apology or refund. PLEASE DO NOT PUT TRUST INTO THIS WOMAN FOR ANY IMPORTANT LEGAL MATTER.

I had a deeply troubling experience with Attorney Raj Saddah and his firm. Initially, everything seemed fine, but the situation took a turn for the worse when my assigned attorney left the firm. As I was nearing the end of my case, I chose to follow my attorney to her new firm, believing it was in my best interest. Since then, Raj Saddah's firm has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite having funds in escrow, they have been bombarding me with exorbitant bills and threatening me with collections and legal action. It’s baffling to me why they are trying to garnish my wages when they already hold money that should cover any outstanding fees. I have reached out multiple times seeking clarification and resolution, but my attempts to communicate have been met with silence. It seems like my former attorney's departure has led to vindictive actions from Raj Saddah’s firm. The lack of professionalism and courtesy in handling this matter is beyond disappointing. It feels like my situation is being used as leverage in a personal vendetta between Raj Saddah and my former attorney. This kind of behavior is not only insensitive but also highly unethical. I should not be caught in the crossfire of a dispute between a law firm and a former employee. If you’re considering working with this firm, I strongly advise against it. Their defensive responses to similar complaints, coupled with their inability to separate personal grievances from professional service, raise serious concerns. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for legal representation.

I successfully became an American citizen last week! Thank you for your help, Mr. Kumar. The process was seamless, and I was naturalized in just five months. I’ll definitely recommend your services to friends and family who need help with immigration.

Unprofessional and predatory billing practices. My family was quoted a rate for a foreclosure of around 15,000, and the price nearly doubled. The day before filing foreclosure, the law office demanded payment for services or they would refuse to file documents my family had already paid over $25,000 for. We were then charged over $12,000 in late fees during the time we sought arbitration to clarify the unreasonableness of these fees. An arbitrator found many of their fees unreasonable - including fees for reading a blank email, and 5% flat fee for expenses without any justification. Would not recommend - please BEWARE

Cynthia Dubell was given my case by her superior at the Law Office of Rajeh Saadeh. Ms. Dubell's work was untimely. My response to court was delivered for my review in the late afternoon of the court due date. There was a mistake that was not caught due to the rush. Their billing system is terrible because they explain that a credit cannot reflect on their invoices. How is the Office of Rajeh Saadeh doing business?

I selected Jerry to handle a complex alimony termination issue, which he and his team recently settled for me. I hired Jerry after speaking with a number of highly respected family law attorney's in Central, NJ. All of which gave Jerry great recommendations. The best decision that I made relative to this issue. I recommend Jerry when you are dealing with complicated family law matters are involved and you are looking a for a positive outcome.

I was referred to Jerry after being blindsided with divorce papers. After my consultation, I was immediately impressed by his demeanor, expertise and personality. Jerry is a very experienced attorney and negotiated extremely hard on my behalf. He gave me peace of mind when dealing with child custody, alimony and asset division of my complex case. During a very stressful time, Jerry was extremely supportive, patient and has a compassionate group which significantly helped during the process. He inspired confidence and I knew that I had a strong advocate. He knows how to get positive results through negotiation but he can also deliver if you need to go to court. He fought for me every step of the way. I have the upmost confidence and respect for Jerry and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs the best divorce attorney.

My husband and I stumbled upon Aldo and his firm and we are so grateful we did. Besides being very knowledgeable and personable, Aldo pays great attention to detail and educates you on everything! He leaves no stones unturned and truly has his clients best interest at heart. As a Real Estate agent myself, I've worked with several attorneys and I can say confidently that Aldo is the best one I've encountered thus far- he actually really cares! I highly recommend him! (And Susan rocks too!).

My ex husband and I had an excellent experience working with Mindey and Bart. They were very professional, pleasant and responsive. Their "kitchen table" service was perfect for us. It was quick and cost efficient (the only delays were due to the court being backlogged). Mediation was a super wise choice for us and we would highly recommend their services to others!!

Prior to my engaging with Tim regarding a commercial legal issue, I hadn't been exposed much to the legal process. Tim brought not just a great depth of knowledge to the process, but he was able to give me a clear and simple understanding of what was happening on a level that I could relate to. He was terrific at guiding me through each step of the process and managing my expectations. He also did a really great job of inspiring my confidence. Extremely professional, easy to talk to, Tim was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Tim is very knowledgeable and brings alot of common sense to the negotiations. I found him to be pragmatic and to the point on the issues. I used him to review Employee Contracts, Franchise Agreements, Franchise Transfers and Real Estate Negotiations. I found his negotiation skills to have been better than most in obtaining the best possible scenarios for my firm. He is very approachable and is my first resource for any work in NJ.

Tim was first my attorney for a relatively minor landlord tenant case. He quickly demonstrated his professionalism, patience and knowledge of the law and became my attorney for my business. Tim's counsel proved invaluable to me and I credit him for making my business a success. His friendship and support at the time of the death of my husband proved beyond measure the capacity and committment that this man possesses. Tim has been my attorney for over 10 years.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bridgewater, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
