I made the decision to switch lawyers half way through the divorce process after finding out proper procedures were never followed. This is when I hired Joseph Murphy. A court date for an early settlement was less than two weeks away, so I wasn’t sure if things could be changed at this point, but he was able to have that court date postponed, giving us time to go through all the necessary channels. In addition, I was fearful that I wasn’t going to receive alimony, since my husband, his lawyer and the two court assigned mediators felt I was skilled enough to support myself. I really feel that due to his expertise I’m getting a few years of alimony, which i very much needed. I also wouldn’t have gotten half of the 8 years of my ex’s pension. He knows his job and does it very well. I made the right decision.
