I wish I could give zero stars. I contacted Corinne after being laid off from my job in September--I felt I was wrongly dismissed. After providing her with the documents and information she requested, Corinne and I spoke on the phone and arranged to meet at her office on September 18. During the meeting she was very polite and spent a good amount of time discussing the case. She said she felt I had a strong case. Corinne was aware that I needed to sign a severance agreement by September 28 if we did not reach a settlement. She told me what she was going to do, write a strongly worded letter to my former employer and see if we can come to an agreement to increase my severance before the deadline. I agreed with the plan and left feeling very optimistic. Her assistant followed up later that day to request payment in full prior to the work being done. I made the payment by credit card that day. And that’s pretty much where it fell apart. There was no follow up and multiple calls and texts were ignored. We spoke once during the week and she told me she called my former boss and his attorney (which was not what she said she was going to do when we met). When I did eventually reach Corinne to find out the result, it was the night before the signed severance agreement was due, she told me she called and spoke to my former employer and his attorney (which I already knew) and they pushed back. A letter was never written. No further action was taken after the phone calls. Basically, I paid for two phone calls. During a follow up conversation Corinne said she would refund my payment. She did not do that and then proceeded to string me along with promises that she wanted to get me my files ‘as quickly as possible,’ that she would ask her ‘bookkeeper Diana to forward me the bill [sic],’ and if, ‘Diana approved she would issue’ [the refund]. None of this occurred. My guess is that Corinne dragged this out just long enough that I could no longer dispute the charge with my credit card company. Corinne stopped corresponding as of December 13th and blocked my phone number. I have never met or worked with such a dishonest person. The way she handled this was insulting and appalling.
