Peter and his firm are genuine down to earth people that treat you with respect and are not judge mental people at all. Just when I saw my life crash right in front of me and saw no hope I reached out to Peter and his firm, they gave me a appointment and I came in for my consultation and explained everything in detail about my dwi and they made me feel like I was back in my shoes again with know worries. The encouraged me to move forward with my life and that they would deal with the issue at hand without involving me as much as possible . I am fortunate enough to have had them represent me not once but twice I guess I didn't learn my lesson the first time or just missed them being such a great part of my life lol. In my opinion, Peter Gerstenzang is without a doubt, the best DWI Attorney in the country. He handled my case with sheer professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and patience. He explained everything to me in detail as to what he was doing, and would never let the conversation end unless he was sure that I understood his every word. He has a son named Joe, who is following in his footsteps and is like a clone of Peter, as far as being a phenominal lawyer, and a perfect gentleman. I know this may sound crazy, but Peter and Joe Getstenzang, made getting a DWI a wonderful experience for me. They are two of the finest gentlemen that I have ever met.

When I first spoke with him, he said he "hoped one day I would look back on my arrest as the best day of my life". I can honestly say that today, I feel that this is true. He has helped to give me my life back and for this, I will always owe a debt of gratitude. He is simply, the Best!

I contacted Peter after being accused of a second DWI offense, which in New York State, is a felony and a certain career-ender, as I am an attorney. I remembered his name from a seminar I attended years ago that he was teaching for attorneys regarding DWI defense. Peter was immediately responsive and advised me of the severity of the situation and my possible options. Moreover, he knew the district attorney and was familiar with all local courts and judges. Essentially, I was looking at possible jail time and likely disbarment. After extensive negotiations, I was afforded the opportunity to plead to a misdemeanor upon certain conditions. Among them was enrollment in the NYC Bar Association's Attorney Assistance Program, which aids lawyers with substance abuse or other problems. In addition, I agreed to wear an alcohol-sensing anklet for a year and attend AA meetings on a daily basis. I completed this program and was able to enter the reduced plea. I mention the above as I believe it was the first time ever that an offender in my situation was able to avoid a felony conviction without jail time, if at all. This I attribute to Peter's knowledge and creativity in suggesting and fashioning such an approach. Peter saved my career. I can fully recommend Peter and his firm (his son Joseph and associate Jim Davis were also of great help). As a final footnote, through Peter's sharp insistence and the Attorney Assistance Program, I was able to put alcohol behind me for good, and am grateful for the freedom that has bestowed upon me.

I Googled "best dui lawyer in albany" Peter Gerstenzang came up, so I called and scheduled a meeting, when I got there I was told I would be seeing Jim Davis, I was a little concerned I wasn't seeing Peter but After meeting with Jim Davis I felt confident I was in the right place. Long story short, I had planned on fighting the charges but Jim worked his magic and my charges were dropped to Reckless driving. Thanks Google I feel like I got the best DUI attorney in Albany!

I called Peter's office on a Saturday afternoon. He met with me the next day, Sunday, and sat with me for at least an hour discussing my situation. I had been arrested for DWI and he completely explained my options and chances. Once we determined a course of action, he instructed me of several steps to take pre-trial, that resulted in smooth proceedings. When the court sent two errant tickets related to the incident several months later, I called Peter, who was out of town, and someone else from his practice took care of it immediately. From the first time i talked with Peter I had a good feeling about him. He was genuine and honest. I won't get into details but the severity of the crime would have ruined my life. Peter Gerstenzang is a kind, patient and caring person. He has helped my son from the minute I made that phone call to him in the middle of the night when my son got a DWI and landed in jail.
