After using a prior law firm that billed in excess of $40,000 in legal fees and could not get the job done, we retained Mr. Bohm who quickly got the job done without issue.

Time and time again, Highly Satisfied Clients: I don't where to start, how do I explain to you what Pinni Bohm stands for and what he is capable of? We've known Pinni and have been his clients since 2016, and he has never, ever, not once, disappointed us. Whether it was the very complex deed transfer between two states involving two different estates or a Last Will and Testament and all the revisions, or the Living Trusts (mine and our Mother's), or the many Court Orders he secured for us in order for us to have access to our deceased Mother's assets, he took care of everything and always, obtained the best possible outcomes. We were so impressed by him, we decided to let him handle the sale of our Mother's house, a most daunting task for a 100 year old Victorian home with many, what we thought were going to be unsurmountable issues. Pinni secured the perfect Buyer for our house, we were delighted and relieved, and well, then the fun began. Pinni went to work and proceeded to untangle the massive web of problems that came with the sale, inspection, survey and title search of our 100-year-old house. One headache after another came up with the title search, but working with city agencies, the department of buildings, mortgage banks and title companies from the past, one by one, Pinni remedied each and every issue that arose. He handled the roles of Real Estate Broker, Trust Administrator, Closing Attorney, Incredibly Gifted Problem Solver, and one very Out of The Ordinary Investigator. His resourceful expertise is spectacular, every problem, unwelcome surprise, glitch, ghost from long ago that popped up, Pinni handled it all and kept things moving forward. Selling your house, the biggest asset for most of us, is a very emotional experience, the process can be daunting and exhausting, at times overwhelming. It was so welcome, such a relief and so reassuring to have Pinni steering everything in the right direction. How many nights I'd email him with our fears and concerns, and he'd email back many times 1, 2, 3 o'clock in the morning, answer my questions and then tell me to get some sleep, 'I'll handle it, don't worry and we'll talk later in the day.' Myself, my sisters, brother and brothers-in-law are all thankful Pinni was with us from the very beginning by handing our Mothers estate all the way up to the closing. We didn't have to have a separate estate planner, broker, closing attorney to coordinate with on every issue, then wait for a reply when the issues were coming at us from every direction, because Pinni was handling every aspect, pretty amazing, very amazing work. Because of his outstanding organization and due diligence, the closing was seemless. Sometimes the whole process can be so draining, one buyer backs out, another comes in, this bank wants that, this title company found this, your head will spin. Thank you, Pinni, for making it happen, and for always steering us toward the goal and reminding us of the big picture. Pinni Bohm's contribution to our family's interests was massive, I couldn't think of anyone we'd rather have representing us, he is that effective and more, He's a good man, a descent man, an extremely well-versed partner you'll want on your side, who knows his craft and who knows how to think out of the box, he will rise to a challenge from every direction and at times will wow you, I'm not getting paid for this review, it's just a description of our experience with Pinni Bohm

I was looking for a lawyer to help me with the sale of my first house. I did know where to go so I did an internet search and found Mr. Miller's web site. It was really informative, so I gave him a call. Mr. Miller was terrific and since that time he has been my whole family's attorney. When my wife was injured in a car accident, thank God he was there to help us; when my aunt died he got us through probate; when my son got divorced his firm made sure that things were settled in a fair and reasonable manner. In short, if you are looking for a true family law firm in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, you can ask for none better.

I was recommended to Mr. Miller by a friend when I had some trouble with the police a while back. The police had grabbed me off the street and arrested me for a crime I did not commit - and when I asked to speak to a lawyer - they beat me up so badly that I wound up in the hospital for two weeks. I cannot recommend anyone more highly than Mr. Miller as a top flight criminal and civil attorney. Not only did he prove my innocence, now we are negotiating a substantial civil settlement with the city for the injuries caused by the police. This is why I call Andrew Miller Brooklyn's Best.

I was filled with trust in Aziz Juraev and confidence in his professionalism from the very first consultation with him. This was the first lawyer, at the very first conversation with whom, I had a feeling of confidence in the outcome of the trial. And this despite the fact that he did not promise mountains of gold and did not persuade him to become his client. From the moment the contract was concluded until the judge made a decision, I never doubted my choice. Throughout my journey, Aziz and his team guided me in the best possible way. All documents were submitted on time. During consultations with Aziz and Alexander, I was able to imagine how the court hearing was going and how to behave at it, and I was able to believe that my case was not without hope for success. They instilled in me faith in the American justice system, which can accept even words without indisputable documentary evidence as an argument. All this is possible due to the fact that judges are people too and believe in humanity. At the trial itself, Aziz behaved like a true professional. I am very glad that I made the right choice by choosing Aziz Juraev as my lawyer. I am sincerely grateful to Aziz and his entire team.

Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Brooklyn, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
