I write this review knowing that Dave has moved on into a different career field but I just wanted to say he was a phenomenal lawyer. My case was probably like no other he had encountered because he told me so but Dave worked diligently on my case that involved spoofing, fake Facebook accounts, and someone impersonating an attorney. There were people who conspired against me to ruin my reputation and my family relationships. I can't even begin to express my sincere gratitude to Dave for uncovering the truth and dispelling a bunch of lies. My life was seriously affected because of viciousness and jealousy. I thank you David for proving beyond doubt that nothing that was said or done was done by me and for helping to mend relationships that had been broken because of this incident. I am forever indebted to you and grateful that you believed in me considering the craziness of the situation.

Dave was a godsend during the hardest time of my life; escaping a very abusive violent marriage, also involving my 3 children effected by abuse. He stood by me, helped me stay focused & at times sane in the face of my psychopathic husband andhis never ending head games. I can't Thank you enough Dave, its not over yet I miss you greatly But am so happy your following your path & goals. Your support & legal knowledge is still helping me fight for myself & my children!

Dave was excellent in my situation my sibling my situation was complicated I I had several issues that had to be resolved and he resolved all of them he simultaneously took care of a legal issue and the matrimonial issue together he was very concerned about me and my situation I had several times when I change my mind about situations but he always reminded me that certain things were a waste of time and money and he was always looking out for my best interest he was always there when I called he always return my emails and he set up a very good settlement for me it was excellent but I decided to converted to a separation agreement which turned out to be maybe not the greatest idea but the settlement he did get me was excellent in the best settlement I could get under the terms I know everyone is not satisfied with the job that attorneys sometimes do but I have to speak from a personal point of view this attorney was very caring he took the time to really formulate my case people have to remember that is not only the attorney that prepares your case but you are also responsible for some of that stuff also meaning your behavior at the end of the day I would highly recommend this attorney wherever he's at

Me. Crowther, was all bite no bark. He quickly said Whatever I wanted to hear, made Promises on getting my abusive, violent husband (for which I had needless police reports; over 20yrs of violent physical abuse. I spent 16 years beginning for help from anyone who cod help.) But as soon as my dad found out how bad things truly were ; he met with Mr. Crowther along with me & more and more "promises" were made; ALL of which were lies the VERY second he spent the $6,000.00 retainer. And continued to charge our $400.00 a month. Still Claiming he's owed $11,000.00 for doing NOTHING! When you see this name & his sweet talking LIES; Run Like Hell.

Did not do anything for me. First court date just sat there didn't speak up on the fact that my aunt was present and willing to take my daughter he had to ask county attorney what was going to happen because all they did was set new court date. Prices are very high. He charged me just to consult with him.

This is my first time retaining an attorney. I did not know what to expect or how it would go but from the first conversation I had with him on the phone he calmed me down immediately and explained the law whenever I had a question and was extremely patient. One important thing I want to point out if you're shopping for an attorney is that Andrew answers the phone and responds if not immediately very soon and never leaves you hanging. He went above and beyond not just the facets of the case but also made sure that everything was good regarding my job. He took time to answer any questions I had and made sure I was satisfied. I was impressed with his calm demeanor and he fights till the very end and does not even waiver. I recommend him highly.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Buffalo, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
