Nicholas Rossi and Michael Rossi handled my DWI case. They were amazing through the whole process. They were sympathetic and non-judgemental which really made me feel comfortable in such an uncomfortable situation. They always kept me informed either by phone or email, and was always available to answer any questions. They didn't "candy-coat" any possible outcomes of my case so I knew what to be prepared for. They really fought for me, and much to my surprise, my case was dismissed (not typical). The Rossi Law firm didn't just meet my expectations, they truly exceeded them. I will forever be grateful, and will always highly recommend them!

Facing criminal charges was one of the worst life experiences I have ever encountered. I knew I had to hire the best criminal lawyer in Buffalo. I did extensive research into law firms and lawyers. I decided to hire the Rossi Law firm based on their reviews and their credentials. This was one of the best decisions of my life! Nicholas Rossi represented me in my matter and was able to produce the best possible outcome. He is a brilliant lawyer who went above and beyond my expectations. He is a master researcher and extremely knowledgeable in criminal law. The work that he produced during my matter, I don’t think any other lawyer could match and this is why I had the outcome that I did. Nicholas Rossi is extremely professional and ethical - he will not make you promises which some lawyers try to do. He always provided me with detailed information about the matter, explaining everything factually, allowing for well informed decisions to be made. He was always available in a very timely fashion to answer questions and he always provided me the time to explain things very well. He was also always in communication with me to provide me with updates throughout the process. Lawyers are expensive but I can guarantee you that you will get the best value for your dollar with Nicholas Rossi as a result of his outstanding work ethic; his commitment to the best outcome; the quality of his work; and his knowledge and expertise. The Rossi Law firm has an exceptional billing system in place that is so detailed allowing you to see exactly how your money is being spent. Also, comparing the time spent on the work and the work that is produced, you can clearly see that Nicholas is an extremely honest, fair, highly skilled intelligent lawyer. Again, Nicholas Rossi exceeded my expectations and I hired him believing he was the best.

I want to take this opportunity to thank both Nicholas and Michael Rossi and their law firm for their exceptional representation while defending me in a recently concluded DWI case. From our first consultation, to planning our strategy, through several court appearances, to the final court decision, they were very professional and provided excellent legal advice and guidance. They treated me with constant respect and courtesy, not as a criminal. Nicholas was the primary litigator and did a great job in the courtroom, while Michael assisted providing additional counsel. It was a rather long drawn out process due to the Covid-19 impact on the legal system closing down the courts, but Nicholas kept assuring me our case was strong and to be patient, and it paid off. The court agreed with our defense motions that the traffic stop by the officer was illegal, which rendered all evidence inadmissible, which led to the dismissal of all charges against me. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I highly recommend Nicholas and the Rossi Firm for any DUI/DWI legal representation. Great job guys ..... Thank You !!!

Nicholas Rossi assisted me greatly during my criminal, and VTL case for my motorcycle. I was scared that I was going to lose a lot, but Nicholas Rossi insured me that he’d fight for me. That’s exactly what he did ! he was there for me whenever I needed him, and always kept me informed throughout the whole process. He made me feel confident during the duration of the case due to his great expertise. Nicholas negotiated a great deal with the ADA which resulted in my criminal charges dropped, and a great number of my VTL charges dropped. I am pleased with the outcome that happened. If you are facing any type of legal matter you will need a great attorney in your corner, and Nicholas Rossi is definitely the type of attorney you’ll need.

When my life got flipped upside from a DWI charge I had no idea where to turn. I had a very unique case that needed the attention to detail this firm presented. Unlike other interviews I had with very other known law firms, when speaking with Mr. Michael Rossi on the very first call , he outlined his experience and his goals on how he hoped to achieve a favorable outcome for me. No lavish promises on cost or how long it would take to effectively defend me. In my experience, when you hire someone you go on experience and reputation not a sales pitch filled with unknown promises. I feel I made the right call in hiring the Rossi firm. Bottom line as much as it can be difficult to pay for legal fees you get what you pay for, so buck up if your reputation and criminal record are important to you. As for Mr. Nicholas Rossi, this guy is a beast in the court room. He is very bright, extremely knowledgeable in the law and very comfortable in the courtroom , he has a very promising future. Having both of these gentleman by myside in the courtroom I felt confident as possible during a very difficult time filled with unknowns. On top of everything both of these fine attorneys have a heart, they helped me more than they know. I feel they genuinely cared. Best part of all, all charges DISMISSED! I feel very confident this firm will do everything legally necessary to defend you, leaving no stone unturned. Thank you!

This is my first time retaining an attorney. I did not know what to expect or how it would go but from the first conversation I had with him on the phone he calmed me down immediately and explained the law whenever I had a question and was extremely patient. One important thing I want to point out if you're shopping for an attorney is that Andrew answers the phone and responds if not immediately very soon and never leaves you hanging. He went above and beyond not just the facets of the case but also made sure that everything was good regarding my job. He took time to answer any questions I had and made sure I was satisfied. I was impressed with his calm demeanor and he fights till the very end and does not even waiver. I recommend him highly.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Buffalo, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
