In 2011, my son hired the Wisselman firm to handle his uncontested divorce. It was a simple case because my son and his ex were on friendly terms. I accompanied my son to the free consultation and met with one of the partners. I was very impressed with the office staff and the service. I was skeptical however about the low flat fee. I was sure the case would cost more, and my son couldn't afford it. I was shocked when the case was handled to the end with no hidden fees. Shout out to Halyna who was professional and responsive. I have referred other clients to this firm and will continue to do so.

I worked with Jackie Harounian, Lisa Gardener and Derick Rubin at Wisselman & Associates. Initially, I worked with Jackie. Jackie is a great listener, very compassionate and could double as a therapist. However, she is also a very good lawyer. She understands matrimonial law and is passionate about getting the best outcome for her clients. At the same time, she is an honest an ethical lawyer who would rather take the route of mediation or cooperation if mediation is not an option. She would rather arrive at a reasonable and fair outcome if it avoids a lengthy, ugly and expensive fight. I worked with Mr Rubin briefly on a traffic matter and he was competent and attentive to what I needed. For my matrimonial and custody case, I spent the majority of my time working with Lisa Gardener. You could not ask for a more competent, smart and compassionate person to represent you. When things got tough, Lisa never lost her cool, had a thorough understanding of the law as it related to my case and therefore never backed down to threats from opposing counsel and eventually saw me through a very difficult time in my life. She's a very smart lawyer who practices her craft in an ethical fashion. She will protect you as a client in a professional manner. As I went through my divorce and custody case, it became apparent to me that there are basically 2-types of lawyers. There are lawyers who truly care about you and your children's long-term welfare and how this life-changing event will affect all of you for many years (emotionally and financially). And then there are lawyers who will convince you that divorce and/or child custody is like a war. Take no prisoners and that they only outcome is a clear winner and a clear loser. In my opinion, the latter typically results in two former spouses that are broke, bitter toward each other, and children who are upset, confused and potentially damaged. My advice is to hire smart competent and ETHICAL representation. Even if your former spouse chooses the other path. My decision to hire Wisselman & Associates has served me well. My case which could have turned into a very ugly and costly confrontation was resolved fairly and in the end amicably. You may not believe that this is possible if your former spouse has chosen the other type of lawyer, but you should take the high road. I did and with the help of Jackie, Lisa and the truly amazing staff at Wisselman, my life is back on track and my children are in a good place.

Jerry Wisselman was extremely thorough in guiding me through the specific details when I first entered into the initial stages of divorce. He created an extremely safe and comfortable environment related to unchartered territory, resulting in a very amicable outcome. I could not have been more happy with my choice to work with Wisselman & Associates and highly recommend Mr. Wisselman and his law firm should one require his knowledge and expertise.

I had a very urgent situation that arose before going through a divorce. With no involvement from my husband, I needed immediate financial relief in order to provide for my daughter. I was referred to Mr. Wisselman and was able to get an appointment right away. This was an extremely difficult and emotional time for my daughter and I and Mr. Wisselman made me feel at ease. He was not only successful in getting what I needed at the time but was also able to ensure that finances for my daughter would be provided until adulthood. I am so grateful for all of his help and I recommend him highly for his knowledge and understanding.

I have been attending the firm's legal workshops for mental health professionals over several years. The workshops are of the highest calibre with excellent speakers and program materials. They are not only educational, but also entertaining. The venue is the beautiful Port Washington Yacht Club on Manhasset Bay, and the event includes a lovely buffet lunch in the Club's main dining room. Until this year the workshop and luncheon were free, but they understandably now cost a very reasonable $25.00. The firm's attorneys, who practice family law, are topnotch, professional and cordial. They clearly appreciate the congruence of mental health and legal issues encountered in divorce and other family law matters. As a former attorney myself, I would recommend them to anybody in need of such counsel.

Go with whomevr you want in the firm but do not use--Jacqueline. She is a BIG THIEF! she promised my family and myself that she would help us, but she just sniffed out money from my family. My divorce was very simple but they made it very complicated which resulted in us losing the case, partially because my lawyer was working against me. They were getting paid by both myself and my ex husband. The divorce has Been finalized for a year but I'm still feeling the effects of the difficult situation and karma will definitely bite them. Do not use these lawyers and if you have any questions, please refer to all the reviews.

After turning down many law offices because of their attitude and rude behavior, I finally got someone who was nice and compassionate that actually cared about my case. It was very reassuring. The Receptionist Lisa Marie was so nice and I'm sure their group of lawyers are just as nice. I would never give my money or my business to a company who wasn't compassionate about my case and who was rude to me and acted as if I was a bother to them. Thank you for your compassion and kindness.

I had been married for 30 yrs so the thought of going through a divorce at that stage of the game was overwhelming to say the least, until I interviewed Jackie Harounian . Doing my due diligence I had spoken to 4 or 5 Divorce attorneys previous to my meeting with Jackie. Her assuredness and experience and reasonable fee won me over immediately ! After a smooth start to the process we hit a couple of bumps in the settlement road( unforeseen by me ) but after assurances by Jackie and her amazingly kind and patient associate Alina Vengerov, and a couple of needed trips to court we/they got the train back on track, as they promised me they would ! I had a few periods of insane frustration during the process but was deftly and patiently and kindly walked through the balance of the proceeding by the AMAZING Miss Alina Vengerov Esq ! My divorce was finalized after only 9 months !! I can"t thank Jackie and Alina and there wonderfully kind receptionist Christine enough for the way I was treated during this very trying and tumultuous time in my life . I would HIGHLY recommend this firm to anybody who has to unfortunately go through the divorce process . You will never regret your decision !

I have attended at least 12 years of conferences that Wisselman ,Harounian & Associates have conducted and always walk away with needed information . As a mental health professional I have learned some of the workings of a he legal system and how to utilize them effectively to help my clients. Although I have never needed to contact them for a free consultation , this offer has been extended to me many times. I thank them for the valuable help they generously give to the mental health community.

I was confronted with a very difficult situation. My uncle's will was being contested and I was truly not prepared for the intensity of the situation. However, with Derrick's guidance and the ability to calm me down during stressful points in the procedure, I was able to get through the entire debacle.
