I live in Manhattan, so I would have never thought to look for an attorney outside the city, but, Annabel came highly recommended. I needed to find an attorney to draw-up an Estate Plan for me. I was not disappointed. From the first contact I made with Annabel, then and thereafter, I always could count on both a quick and clear reply. Distance was not an issue in working with Annabel. She came to meet me in Manhattan for our initial conversation. During that meeting, I was impressed with her patience in listening to my concerns and thoroughness in collecting all the important facts. Unlike other attorneys that I have worked with, Annabel was not formulaic in her counsel. She carefully weighed all the pros and cons of what I was asking for; brainstormed various alternatives and arrived at solutions that included what I wanted and not a boiler plate plan that others are more quick to present. After numerous calls, exchanges of e-mails, reading and correcting draft documents, Annabel came back to Manhattan for the final signing of my documents. Members of our family were overdue to receive our inheritance, which meant primarily the sale and liquidation of our home left by our deceased parents. Unfortunately the executors of the estate were very very resistant. One of the executors insisted he live in the house and not sell. Thanks in great measure to Annabel's patient, caring and steady approach to our dilemma, we avoided what could have been a ugly, lengthy court case. She saved us money and showed great understanding of our emotional state. These kinds of situations can get hostile. Annabel showed great understanding and finesse. I hired Annabel to prepare wills for myself and my same-sex partner. I also asked her to prepare end-of-life, medical and decision-making documents for me and my partner so that if one of us were to become incapacitated in a hospital the other would have the legal right to make decisions. During the process she asked many questions about scenarios I hadn't even considered and included those provisions in my final documents. The documents were delivered in an orderly and efficient manner. She also represented me in Small Claims Court during a dispute with my neighbor. She did a great job. I would certainly hire Annabel again for other legal matters.
