My name is Jakwan Rivers. I was a long time NYC employee of the NYCHA and a Union official of Teamsters local 237 representing city employees. As I opposed the treatment of the members by city and union officials, I decided that in order to change the way business was done, was to run for president of the union and affect change and as a result, I became a target of both interties for retaliation. After exhausting all internal lawful interties and exorcising all internal rights to protect myself against all opposing parties and retaliation from NYC and Union officials, I was left with no other alternative but to seek out specialized attorneys who totally understood the general makeup of city and union policies. My case was extremely unique which required a law firm that also specializes in retaliation including 1st and 14th amendment rights which many law firms lack all combined specialties. After months of consideration, research and investigating, all roads led to Borrelli and associates P.L.L.c. After consultation, I was pleased and excited that the associates of Borrelli totally understood my situation and immediately devised a plan of action. As a union official/city employee, I've had the privilege of working with many attorneys from all walks of law and I must say, their focus, commitment and professionalism was above and beyond what was expected.
