PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW: it may save you time, energy and money! It's long in text --- but again, please read carefully. Don't go through what I went through. I just finished talking to a Mr. Friedman on a SUNDAY evening after calling me. Very congenial and informative gentleman. I've been with Marc J Berns in Manhattan since 2015, and I have to say I really wish I met Mr. Friedman SIX years before. Instead of going into too much detail of my history with my own attorney that I felt kind of stuck with, I'm going to relay advice based on what that Mr. Friedman told me. If I make a mistake I hope he corrects me as I don't want to put words in his mouth so to speak: 1. You injury case (if it's soft tissue damage) may be litigated with a firm like Friedman and Simon. Some will be based on seriousness/scars etc. Mr. Friedman will be honest with you --just based on my conversation with him tonight. From our conversation and my understanding, broken bone/ teeth car accident injury / personal injury cases most likely can be litigated on your behalf. 2. Ask Mr. Friedman the time line of any potential settlement if he can take your car accident/personal injury case. 3. Ask Mr. Friedman about NO FAULT insurance and the duration that you would be allowed to fall under in order to pay your medical bills. I think he said that client would not have to pay NO FAULT. 4. PLEASE DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE and ask Mr. Friedman about any potential LIENS that can be taken out of your compensation. Research it as best you can on your own or just simply refer to your attorney whom ever you may choose. He was solid on information that I should have been told by my current attorney. 5. Ask him if NO FAULT isn't accepted by your medical provider (i.e. for necessary surgeries), can he arbitrate on your behalf. Unfortunately, since I didn't meet with an attorney like Mr. Friedman beforehand, I'd spend over 6 years before finally receiving a settlement. I made the mistake of taking my own attorney's advice of borrowing money from a loan shark and now owe 22K --even if my attorney was able to negotiate it down by thousands of dollars. I also believe having given my law office a negative review a couple of years ago over one of the attorney's unprofessional behavior and other issues, probably made things worse for me. Maybe I'm wrong about that --but I kind of suspect it. Bottom line is I received very limited advice. Some attorneys seem to be more like Mr. Friedman for the client's benefit upfront...some attorneys will be more inclined to try to get more profit even if it COSTS YOU. It happened to me. And so. Worst of all is this: What I also never found out about was that ANY public/private insurance will or can take liens out on your compensation. I received an 85K settlement. Afterwards, after the split, I was supposed to receive about 36k. It was my only way out of my current situation ---including surgery for scars on my lip/mouth. I was even told by my attorney's agency that NO FAULT only lasts for 3 months. Mr. Friedman told me that it was longer than that. I could have since fixed my lip. Now, Im stuck with what looks like a cold sore (no disrespect to cold sores) that I've sported for 6 years. SIX YEARS. Worst of all, I will have to pay my medical insurance and even past public assistance that will eat all of my compensation. Again, PLEASE ask Mr. Friedman about any current potential liens that you may have. In NY, if you have a public assistance lien / medical lien, that will be deducted from your compensation more than likely. Don't waste your time and energy as I did. I did all my attorneys' paper work, spent time, money over their WORK in order for them to get paid. I firmly believe by now they knew I had liens from the get go and never told me until I received a settlement. My (new) attorney says she will try to bargain down. Yup GL on that. Even if you're just starting with your attorney or midway so to speak, if you're not happy ---CALL MR. FRIEDMAN firsthand. He will either call or email you. Best of luck.

I can't say enough about Friedman and Simon all of their personnel were very respectful professional and kept it real with me throughout the whole process and all took place in a very nice timely fashion so if you looking for someone that's going to keep it real and be professional in getting your case resolved I strongly recommend. I recommend you stay with the best here at Freeman and Simon and give them the test you won't regret!
