Pros
1
Satisfied with the lawyer's representation and service quality
“Overall, I was pleased with their representation.”
2
Highly recommended by clients for professionalism and expedited case resolution

3
Helpful and responsive staff who work hard to support clients
“Janine was very helpful as well." and "The team kept to their word and were able to take care of me in 4 months during COVID-19.”
Cons
1
Failure to properly prepare and handle legal proceedings, leading to additional costs and need to hire a new lawyer
“He failed to ask all the questions the trustee would. In the middle of court as I'm asking him about this he says 'don't worry about it, you're fine' Had to fire Paul and hire a new lawyer. Terrible experience, terrible decision.”
2
Lack of communication and responsiveness, with the lawyer often unavailable or delegating tasks to less experienced staff
“Paul wasn't present for our 1st meeting to complete the paperwork or ask us the appropriate questions and walk us through it. Anytime we've called to speak with Paul directly he's never available and Amy down plays every letter we received after the hearing.”
3
Concerns about unethical billing practices, such as hidden fees and charges
“By the time we ended the appointment he jacked it up another $350 for other charges he 'forgot' to tell me about on the phone when I clearly asked him if this was the complete cost." and "He forgot that part as well.”

He's direct and straight to the point. He told me what I needed to do and he got it done within a few months. No headache and no beating around the bush. This man stands on his business and that's all you could ask for in an attorney. The staff is always very helpful too

Worst lawyer by far. Does the least and expects the most. If you are looking for a lawyer to fight for you, this one aint it. Spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to get nothing. Anyone who leaves an honest bad report of you, were your staff worst clients. Sounds suspicious. I'm glad you tried to save yourself by reflecting the negative review back. If only you could have saved my daughter. ***Additional*** I wish to formally address some concerns regarding the legal services I received during my overseas deployment. Throughout this process, there were significant issues with communication and responsiveness. I felt consistently disregarded, with my concerns often going unheard and the attorney frequently unavailable. There was a lack of effective communication, and I was often left without crucial information right before court appearances. Additionally, the majority of my financial resources were allocated to this attorney, yet the outcomes were unsatisfactory and did not meet our expectations. I strongly advise conducting thorough research before committing to any retainer fee. If you prefer an attorney who primarily engages in self-dialogue over the phone while billing you and neglecting your needs, this may be the professional for you. However, based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney to family, friends, or colleagues in the military.

I highly recommend Mr. Jablonski without a doubt! He helped me out with my DWI and got me the best deal possible. He is straight forward, honest, has a ton of knowledge about the law, he’s great listener and very compassionate. Going through my struggle and meeting Mr. Jablonski actually saved my life and turned it around, I strongly trust what he says and does. He is the BEST in town!

Mr. Jablonski reviewed our case and provided excellent advice for what to do before the court date in a very friendly and competent manner. He negotiated with the ADA a reduction in charges from a felony to a violation that resulted in a minimal fine. We highly recommend Mr. Jablonski.

Jason will go the distance for sure ! Great attorney he never gave up even after my case was drawn out for almost 5 years! We ended up going to trial Jason made many attempts to Seattle with them for less money and they refused even moments before the trail. He is very well educated in the law. He went into trail and had a game plan and we came out winning and they ended up with nothing thank you for not giving up on the case this was a big win for the little guys up agains a huge corporation with the money to pay big attorneys!! And he took them down !! Definitely call him if you need help!!

Jason was able to help me with a debt that showed up the week before Christmas and couldn't have come at a worse time! I started to research and he was recommended for the exact debt collector I was having an issue with. Considered it done in a matter of weeks and it's no longer haunting me which is a huge relief. Thanks again Jason! Appreciate it

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lackawanna, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
