Having the card, gives me peace of mind.
I love that it clearly states what some of the issues a person with a brain injury can present with.
I've used it in the past, and love that it fits easily in my purse.
Thank you so much for the card.

De Caro & Kaplen is a welcoming light in our brain injury world. They not only provided me with the free ID card once but when I forgetfully left a support group without it having been returned after sharing, they generously replaced it without hesitation. The insight used to create these cards not only with emergency contact info but also as a teaching moment on the reverse side to avoid misunderstandings brings me some comfort when traveling.Their generosity feels validating in this dismissive system.

This wonderful and caring firm were so kind to send me a brain injury card with my information printed on it in case of an emergency. Within one week of having this gift of a card, I needed it for an actual emergency and it helped save me! I am forever grateful for you’re caring and generosity! I wish you’re firm was located in my state so I could utilize your services for disability etc. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

It can be very difficult to locate brain injury information because every organization operates autonomously, or so it seems. However, all of that changes when you're dealing with competence. Having a brain injury card is such a great thing to have... it protects us as survivors, and gives a chance to support ourselves. These are very nice people, and they will do their best for you.

I was the passenger of a car that got pulled over for speeding. The officer came to my side of the car and asked for my information. Legally, i know I'm not required to surrender my documents, as i am not the driver. I presented my TBI card to the officer, explained that i have epilepsy and don't want to have an episode, could he please turn off his emergency lights. After he received the driver's info, he went back to the squad car and turned them off. This card saved me the hassle of the officer suspecting me of any crime. thank you!

thank you so much. as one of the folks in the majority who have had their abilities and life changed completely from undiagnosed concussion/tbi, tools for describing my experience and being believed and heard were often out of reach.
now if I am experiencing a loss of language or my function is perceived as impaired, there is a voice and tool for assistance in being understood that is carried with me always.
being a trans gender person as well, the card being available to me to use with my real name (not my dead/birth name) was a restorative piece of access. In a world often determined by documents, this card was, for some time before being able to afford and have access to changing my gender marker and name, a piece of identification that reflected two aspects of my often invisible self- my trans self, and my disabled self. thank you for the steps you have taken to bridge the gaps in care and basic human needs being met with this simple tool. This has even helped me in times where I am being harassed by police for "acting strange"- the card felt like a legitimate protection of me in that moment, a reminder that if they were to brutalize me further, it would be having known full well that they were hurting a disabled person. thanks to your firm for the work you are doing.

I find this law firm to be highly respectable. I wish I would have known about them sooner, because they would be my choice law firm. Their professionalism speaks for itself and it is very evident to me that they truly care about TBI survivors; offering a complimentary ID card, and a great amount of information and facts on their website. 5 stars from me!
