I found Mr. Lidowsky online after my dentist hastily without any preparation put in a dental implant that was the incorrect size, and at the wrong angle, without forming any sort of treatment plan or taking any 3D scans, leading to a very unaesthetic result that is extremely difficult to fix. The dentist refused to perform further work or refund any money to fix the tooth, and so in desperation I called Mr. Lidowsky, after at least one other lawyer told me there was nothing to be done about it. Mr. Lidowsky asked me to tell my story and he decided to take the case. As a result of his expertise in the area, he was able to point out the treatment mistakes that had been made, and I received a sizeable settlement to get my tooth fixed. Thank you, Mr. Lidowsky! He is absolutely the best at what he does, extremely knowledgeable about dental work, and wonderful to work with. HIGHLY recommend. If he agrees to take your case after hearing the details, you can feel very good about your odds of being treated fairly.

I have used Attorney Zevin twice with wonderful results each time. I live in a condominium complex where the numbers can be confusing since there are numbers and letters. A condominium with the same number as mine, but a different letter, is in foreclosure, while mine is paid for. However, I continually received correspondence and papers served as if I were the owner of the condo in foreclosure. Attorney Zevin promply issued a cease and desist order to the firm in question and the matter was quickly resolved; I had been unable to do it myself. Secondarily, Attorney Zevin is an expert in the music industry, having composed music in his early life. He represented me exceptionally well in a contract investing in a popular singer. His knowledge of the industry is amazing. Thank you so much, Attorney Zevin.

I was very impressed with Mr. Greenberg's services. I was unfamiliar with the New Jersey real estate process which is much different than that in Pennsylvania where I conduct my small real estate business. Mr. Greenberg handled the negotiations and contract modifications skillfully and with just the right amount of input from me. He was very familiar with the negotiating style of the buyer and was firm but compromising when necessary. All in all, an excellent lawyer. And I have dealt with many. I can recommend him highly. And by the way, he is very pleasant and personable. I would respond to emails if anyone has any questions.

Paul is awesome! He is very detailed oriented, he explains the process every step of the way. Paul is organized and he presents very well. He takes the time to listen to what you have to say and has no problem with providing you further understanding of policies and procedures that a nonprofit needs to know when it comes to keep us out of trouble and keeping up on point. I highly recommend Paul for legal services! I want to thank you Paul for all of your help, thoroughness and support.

Paul represented us right from the start of our real estate transaction. He really looked out for us during the course of the entire process. He clearly went over each of the clauses and explained elaborately. His expertise and professionalism throughout our transaction is very much appreciated. I recommend Paul to anyone who is looking for an attorney who looks out for his clients. For Paul, it wasn't just another real estate transaction. He fought for us and ensured our interests were on top of the list. We were very happy with the services we received. Everything was explained before hand and we had complete clarity about the process as it went through, Paul did an excellent job in keeping track of the deadlines and was constantly in touch with us to ensure we were in compliance with the contract. As our attorney he represented us extremely well during the course of this transaction and we will be using him whenever and where ever we require his services

We used Kim (Goldstein) for our recent Roslyn sale, and she was absolutely wonderful! She's smart, efficient, kind, and thought of things we'd never have considered. In a lifetime of using lawyers for various tasks, I've never had anyone as great as Kim. Oh--and their rates were very reasonable, as well. You'll be very happy if you choose Kim!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Roslyn, New York?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
