I chose Michael Kalil as a divorce mediator from his online description. I didn't know much of anything about the process or the expense. Immediately, upon speaking with and meeting his secretary, Ann, I was put at ease. She is so professional and expressive, I actually looked forward to our meetings with Michael. Michael made sure to keep us on track, informed and focused. He was compassionate and understanding yet firm and concentrated. Although I have called Mr. Kalil for family law concerns on two separate occasions over a 5 year period, I have never met him in person. The reason is that, on both occasions, he was incredibly upfront and honest about the reality and limitations of my situation. There was no attempt to get me into the office with promises of victory, taking money for a situation that had slim probability of large change. Instead, he provided me clear and very helpful instructions (over the phone), for actions that could be handled just as well without a lawyer. In my book, he's a stand-up guy, and if I ever really need a lawyer, there's no question about who I will hire.
