I have reviewed Dustin Dow previously. He did a fantastic job dealing with a criminal case where I was unjustly prosecuted. Following on to that, I retained Mr. Dow to handle a malicious prosecution case related to the criminal case. I made numerous calls and emails in the course of a full year. Despite taking a $4500 retainer, not a single action was taken. And when I finally got Mr. Dow on the phone, he actually stated that, "I only took the case as a favor to you." Mr. Dow, $4500 is NOT a favor. It was a business contract which you failed to perform. I did get a full refund but Mr. Dow tied up my money for a year and wasted my time. This is not the first time I have left this firm. I retained Mr. Reinhardt at one point for my divorce. I left his counsel for a lawyer with superior communication skills. I would say that this seems to be the issue with this firm generally. I know lawyers get busy but communication is important. Clients have a right to know where their issues stand and that progress is being made.

Chris was not my initial choice to help answer a custody complaint served against me; although he should have been! After I started to feel uncertain about my current counsel, I called him to see if he’d be willing to take my case. He cleared up a lot of confusion from my last counsel and immediately took me under his wing. While his course of action was not a popular one with other attorneys, he alone encouraged me to respond back, request dismissal of the complaint and claim that jurisdiction didn’t belong to NC. Nothing about my case had an easy answer as I lived multiple time zones away, and he was honest in giving me no promises to the outcome. I took a leap of faith with him while he rallied with his partners and committed to extensive research on the UCCJEA. Chris knew that time was of the essence with my case and he kept me as one of his top priority clients since day one! When I retained an additional attorney from outside the state, he stayed in lock step with him all the way until the conclusion of our UCCJEA hearing and seamlessly “handed off the baton“ once my case was dismissed in NC and moved to out of state. Chris really led me through what I felt looked like a truly bleak situation into believing that I actually stood a chance in this custody battle that crossed over state lines. Although my case went forward in another state and things were far from over, Chris played a substantial role in allowing me to be the mother with the ability and the right to be present in the everyday life of my little one. I am forever grateful for him and his partners for all of their counsel in my case.

Do not hire Elizabeth Thueme. She will not work for you, but she will sure take your money. This place is a joke. Please do not use this lawyer. She will tell you lies, and she will listen to the other side rather than yours.
