Don't use this lawyer. Daren took my money, did nothing to make my situation better and then didn't return the money left in my escrow account. I contacted him about my money but he just disappeared through the woodworks.

I had to update the custody agreement with my children’s mother, and Daren was instrumental in getting that done. Upon short notice he was able to meet me at court the next morning. Daren is professional and efficient as well as an excellent communicator. He got the details worked out quickly that morning, and was fast to prepare my final paperwork. Highly recommend and will use Daren again if issues arise!

Nothing to improve my custody situation just drug it out, took my money and ran! Suppose to help me out with speeding ticket and ended up handling it on my own! Never Hurd back from Darren. You all should give your EX wife’s his number so he can go do some pro bono work for them.

Attorney Gum is not just an excellent lawyer, he is an educator. I have had 5 different Family Law attorneys represent me here in Asheville. My case was a bit complex. When I met with attorney Gum, he took the time to answer all of my questions, and educated me on the legal process. He was honest with me about what he could help me with, and what he could not. He recommended other attorneys for what he could not help me with. I appreciated that. His hourly rate is reasonable and competitive. If you are shopping for an attorney, I would recommend setting up a consult with attorney Gum first; it's worth paying a consult fee to get a lay of the land and to organize yourself accordingly before meeting with other attorneys. What I found most helpful about attorney Gum is that he literally walked me through different scenarios of how my legal case could shift and turn in court. In other words, I clearly understood my options. I can't say that was the case with the other attorneys. They didn't educate me despite my many requests to get educated on the process and the prospective outcomes. My experience with the other attorneys from a communication's standpoint was quite frankly painful, unbearable, and frustrating. Attorney Gum is a rare find in that you don't have to beg him to educate and communicate with you. He has strong communication skills and exercises professional empathy, which makes you feel heard, seen, and known as a client. That goes a long way when you are in the middle of one of the most challenging times in your life. Thank you, attorney Gum!

I have to say that Daren Gum was a god send to use at a very traumatic time in our lives.We had a custody issue that we had been battling with other lawyers that we thought was helping us and ended up paying them alot of money with no results.So we reached out to lawyer Gum and he was very knowledgeable and open to helping us.Which he did and was amazing to have in our corner.I would recommend him to anyone.He is Great.

Couldn't have had a better experience. Super easy. All we had to do was sign up, provide the details, copy of the citation, and insurance info and they did the rest. After a few weeks we received notification the citations were voluntarily dismissed. Highly Recommend!
