We did consult a little over the phone. SHE was great, however, I let my frustrations get in the way as I "over-spoke" to Ms Ciaravella. Consequently, despite my willingness to do so, she decided otherwise. Probably a good decision. I hold no ill feelings whatsoever. Truth also be told, she referred me to a Raleigh Attorney's office that were experts in what my needs were (military retirement pay questions). They were thorough and provided me with great advice! Thank you Susan!!

Susan helped me draft a custody agreement so that I could maintain regular visitation with my daughter when I moved away from Asheville.. She answered all my questions and got everything done for a very reasonable rate..

NOT SPEAKING WITH SUSAN CIARAVELLA BEFORE YOU CHOOSE YOUR ATTORNEY COULD BE A CRITICAL MISTAKE. For almost five years, all I heard from Family, Friends and several N.C. Attorney's in the Buncombe County area was how next to impossible it is for me, a Father, to get Custody of my Daughters from my Ex-Wife. I knew my girls were in a bad situation but there is a difference between knowing something is wrong and proving something is wrong. There is an even bigger difference, when you are looking for an Attorney, between one who only takes cases they can win, one who takes any case for money and "The One" who fights for what is right despite the odds. On January 13, 2017 Temporary Exclusive Custody and Care was granted in our favor. On March 20, 2017, Exclusive Physical and Legal Custody and Control was awarded. It is now May 2017. My girls now live here with me. They are Safe. They are Happy. No Father or his two young Daughters has ever received a greater gift than the one Susan Ciaravella gave us. She gave us Hope... She fought for what was RIGHT. More importantly is the fact that she did it Gracefully in what could have otherwise been a hostile situation. When I came to see Susan for the first time, I came with a lot of expectations and knowledge, and all of it was wrong. I thought I would have this simple and easy process of writing a parenting plan and it would take 1 month max. Susan was quick to tell me to brace myself for the worst because things rarely go off without a hitch, it was just the honesty I needed to prepare myself for the 6 months we ended up having to take to finish a very emotional process. Through it, Susan helped me not only understand the ways the laws could work for me and against me, but also helped me to save me from myself with my own emotional decisions. In the end, everyone won. My son has the financial support he needs, his father has the rights and visitations he deserves, and I have peace of mind that we can all now grow in our perspective roles without any more undue stress. Susan was prepared, bold and demanding with the opposing counsel when needed, but also showed great empathy for all involved. There were times that I really thought we would end up in litigation fighting for years, but Susan's tact kept us from ever having to walk into a courtroom. Susan was very efficient and well versed in areas where had I attempted to forge through my son's adoption without her expertise, I would have been completely lost and frustrated. When I had questions, she was approachable, resonded quickly (I don't think I ever waited more than a day on a reply, which says a lot when considering not only how involved my own cases was, but the fact that she had other cases she was working at that time). Susan was also more than happy to break legalese into lay terms for me which I found helpful. In addition to all of this, dhe was able to work out a reasonable payment plan. highly reccomend her to anyone seeking a trustworthy professional in the field of family law.
