If I wasn't forced to give him 1 star I would choice to give him negative 5 as he surely didn't deserve any points as he handled my sons case awful a 2 yr old could have performed better. He should seek a better education or a different career.

We hired Andrea Fink to finalize the adoption of our daughter. We had been put through every hoop and hurdle and desperately needed someone to take control of the situation and get things done! Andrea did just that! Within 6 months of hiring Andrea, our adoption was complete. She is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to and very responsive. She not only made things happen in a timely manner, but treated us with compassion and respect. We highly recommend Andrea and would absolutely use her again!

Andi is the best lawyer I've ever worked with. I lost a case in San Diego to keep my daughter in California, and when I moved I was recommended to Andi to help get joint custody. She walked me through all the scenarios, best and worst case. She kept in constant contact with me, gave sound advice, and most importantly, fought for my daughter and me like it was her own family on the line. I couldn't recommend her more. After being disillusioned with my lawyers and the system in California, and glad I was lucky enough to find Andi in North Carolina.

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the case still ongoing. Mr. Morgan is a very thorough and professional person, who went above and beyond for me. Though the case is still ongoing, he has proven his abilities within the court room for me. I haven't had any issues contacting him, he has always been there when I need to speak with him, and he knows Court Rules of Procedure, case law, and how to apply case law during oral arguments and trial. He got my bond reduced by $200,000.00! I recommend him to anyone who needs an experienced professional to go to bat for them, whether it's in traffic, district, or superior court. He also works Avery County sometimes. A very good person, and capable!

I was given a speeding ticket while working out of town and appointed this attorney. I have had bad luck with court appointed attorneys in the past but unfortunately due to my financial circumstances I had to try this again. This man was very professional and friendly. He seemed to genuinely care about my situation and I was surprisingly impressed. He answered all of my questions and explained everything. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of his services, I can tell he is one of the few good ones left.

My family and I were very satisfied with the work of attorney Springer. She was very professional and exemplified great knowledge and experience with the law. She was able to receive the most favorable outcome for my son’s case quickly. I appreciated her taking the time to listen and answer every question I had. She was so helpful during this difficult time and I highly recommend you to give her office a call!

Ms. Springer went above and beyond in her advocacy for me. When I was illegally tased she went after the Sheriff's office to hold them to a higher standard. Ms. Springer charges a flat fee to her clients, so there are no surprises when it comes invoice time. Ms. Springer is like a fish in water in the courtroom and her knowledge of the anatomy of the strange beast that is the law is exhaustive. As a former district attorney her rapport with judges and district attorneys alike is indispensable in navigating the convoluted waters of the Watauga county justice system.

I went off road on a hilly road in Boone North Carolina and got stuck in a ditch. The county police officer gave me a ticket for $238 stating failure to maintain lane making me feel more traumatized . I felt the ticket was unfair and uncalled for. I got in touch with Shelby from Britt's team and she patiently got all the details required. It was like talking to a close friend. Their price was very reasonable and they got the ticket dismissed saving me the ticket money and a 3 year record of a silly traffic ticket. Throughout the process I was kept updated with important updates. I felt at home, and am very relieved with the outcome. They saved me loss of peace of mind and gave me great solace. I would highly recommend the team to everybody with traffic issues.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Boone, North Carolina?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
