Do not hire Christine Carver for your case. When I met with her for a consultation she told me to fight for my son. When we got deeper into the custody battle she didn't want to advocate for me. My ex could be found in contempt and when I asked Christine to proceed with contempt she increased her price from $2k to $3k. She just wanted to call the OC and ask them to have my son start contacting me twice a week. She forgot to attach a legal document to an email and I had to remind her to send it. When I checked the billing she charged me for her mistake. She and her assistant drained the trust through unnecessary communication and inflated billing rather than completing the legal work. I noticed another 1 star review from another man, wish I had seen this before going with her for legal representation. I disagreed with her legal strategy as it seemed she had none as she wanted to just negotiate with the OC rather than helping me regain custody of my son. When I told her respectfully that I did not agree with her legal strategy she told me that she found that highly disrespectful. Save yourself the headache and go with anyone else but her, she is not worth the money. She thought it was a good idea to have the OC use my ex's biased therapist to determine if I would have my visitation increased. When I told her that wasn't a good idea she didn't listen to me and pressed forward with that putting me in a no win situation. I will be filing a grievance with the NC state bar next.

Outstanding Advocate for Housing Rights and Second Chances

Shaefer Shepard went above and beyond helping me with an unorthodox situation that took place earlier this year. He was the only attorney who agreed to help on a very short notice. It was the first time I've had a legal representative and Shaefer was patient explaining and guiding me through every step throughout my case with multiple court dates. As a result he got my case dismissed and I didn't even need to step my foot in the courthouse. We are also working on the expungement process. Thank you for your help, Mr. Shepard!
