My experience: failed the most basic legal tasks. Gave the impression of a form-filling shop with little to no legal strategy. Partner went ex extraordinarily out of his way to ignore all questions about their wrongdoing. Mediocre lawyers at a mediocre firm.

Worked with a lazy, incompetent partner who gave excuses for his mistakes. I recommend finding a well established law firm with partners that care about their quality of their work -- that wasn't Garfinkel from my experience.

William and his team provided service that went well above and beyond, my expectations. William has full command of the law and thus he was able explain it in layman's terms. He was always available to answer questions or concerns. He was always professional and everything he said would happen, did happen. I had full confidence in William and his team.

My employer (a speciality chemicals company) uses the services of Garfinkel immigration law firm. Attorney William Hummel assisted by Alena Casares prepared my O1 petition. First, I want to say that this a dependable law firm with a staff that takes your immigration matter seriously and pays the attention it needs. The attorneys are passionate about their work and everyone is hard working to deliver the results on time. Their case preparation moves at very fast pace with no mistakes in the petition/documents/forms. The attorneys can be available for a phone call after just 1 day notice. I never had to google any issues or check online discussions for my questions. William was phenomenal in providing his feedback on my recommendation letters. His feedback helped me put my research into layman's term. The petition letter they drafted was also factually correct, covered the main topics and strengths of my research. Alena did a great job in preparing the forms and evidence very efficiently and she was prompt in responding to my questions. The result of this well prepared case was an approval for my O1 petition in just 6 days. Lastly, it is not a surprise that they are listed as the Best Immigration Law Firms in North Carolina by U.S. News in 2020.

I engaged the team at Garfinkel for my wife's green card process. Catherine Magennis served as our lead attorney supported by paralegal Sherry Fuertes. I am happy to report that last week (roughly 6 months), my wife became an official green card holder. I recommend Garfinkel for their communication, flexibility, and professionalism. The process requires extensive documentation and both Sherry and Catherine were perfectly organized. They setup secure portals for us to upload and manage our information. They were available within a day's notice for clarifying calls and meetings. These became critical as our ability to meet in person was hampered owing to COVID. Catherine has a deep knowledge of immigration law and the green card process which put us at ease during the process. For every concern or question, Catherine had a relevant precedent which would help guide our decision making. Ultimately, we felt well prepared and confident for the interview. I appreciate Catherine's and Sherry's support and I recommend the team for their knowledge, professionalism, and responsive communication.
