Before contacting the Law Offices of John Orcutt my anxiety level was at an all-time high, but from the first call that anxiety began to diminish. Calls were always responded to promptly and with the attitude of "We care". I always felt my case was important. April Ayscue was amazing as my paralegal. Connie helped me get my feet on the ground and my head straight. Thanks to both April and Connie my case has been filed and I'm on my way to living a debt free life.

Wow, only 5 stars - I'd give her at least a hundred. Kari W. was the most efficient person AND quick in handling our case - in communications, help and in all the work she did for us -in stellar time. I looked up the definition of stellar: HIGH IN QUALITY - of people or Their activities, excellent, EXTREMELY high in quality; excellant - Yes, she is all that - awesome person and her mountain of work was done so quickly, I was amazed. My case was just filed recently so I can't speak on going to court or anything. I hired this law firm to relieve the stress of filing bankruptcy, not add to it. They went the laziest and easiest route in doing so. I basically paid them just to file the paperwork. They did not represent me, and they did not respect my wishes. Now, when I say they did not represent me no one showed to my meeting of creditors, which I was very nervous for because I had a very large amount of debt and cash advances and I didn’t know what kind of questions would be asked, or if anything raised suspicion. Luckily, I got through the meeting OK but my heart was racing the entire time and I should not have been alone. My lawyers excuse was “ I was stuck in traffic”. If my $19,000 car has a car phone I assume his does to, that as an unacceptable excuse. After that my request for a partial refund was ignored even though I’m sure I paid him to show up at that meeting. Now they are getting two stars, because my case was discharged but it was not filed properly so now I have another issue. My main concern with filing bankruptcy was keeping my car and entering a reaffirmation agreement. Something I brought up multiple times with every single person handling my case. I made it clear I need a reaffirmation agreement, and that was a condition of me choosing them to file my bankruptcy. The day I reviewed the paperwork I brought it up again because the way it was written didn’t really make sense to me and they said “yes, we are reaffirming your car loan” something to that extent. They acknowledged, and said I will receive a reaffirmation agreement and take over full responsibility of my car loan. I called the car company this weekend and they said they sent a letter out to my lawyer two months ago to get that reaffirmation agreement, and they never received anything back which was odd. Today I find out this law firm lied and completely went against my wishes and not file a reaffirmation agreement simply because my car company doesn’t require it. Even though I required it. It doesn’t matter what my car company requires. This was my wish and my demand. Now that the bankruptcy is already discharged, it is too late to file it. It was very important to me that I enter that reaffirmation agreement. They did not have the right to lie to me and tell me it will be done and then never even do it because they thought they knew what was better for me. I think a partial refund is definitely warranted because they messed up big time. They filed my paperwork incorrectly and that was the end of everything. My emails to them have gotten nowhere because they are just full of excuses. You can’t have these kind of excuse when I put my life in your hands and hired you as my lawyer. At this point they can’t even fix all of the mistakes they made. It’s too late and now I need to live with their mistakes. EDIT: It’s funny how quickly they respond to a negative review but only respond to the reaffirmation part of the review. Like I said, ignored about receiving a refund for services, I paid for and did not receive. They even had the nerve to give another law firm my information after this review to contact me against my wishes. I did not give them permission to pass my personal information around. All further communication will be through the Better Business Bureau only. I am the wrong person to try to take advantage of.

I filed bankruptcy using this law office but I have not been very impressed with their communication. They are very slow to respond to inquiries of any kind. The day I was in bankruptcy court, the lawyer did not even speak to me before the case. In fact I did not even know if my lawyer had arrived or not when my name was called:-(
