Very unprofessional & extremely hard to work with. A lawyer is supposed to fight for you! Mr Dickerson did not try in almost 2 years of having him defend my husband. He acted like he was trying and that he cared but that was not the case knowing what we know now. We gave him the benefit of the doubt since he has been in this field for a really long time. This firm was rude & very cold to our family while we were going through a very hard time. They knew what we were going through. We had to constantly remind them to do their job, they cancelled more than a couple times and it was usually last minute. He was not prepared for our court date which resulted in my husband having to appeal which cost $5000 on top of the initial $1500. When our appointments were not cancelled he was Late. No contract or agreement was signed or explained then they charged us whatever they wanted after we fired them. The paralegal Lied about doing her job and sending important mail & info. We have the tracking info & receipts to show that she did not send it out until days later than she said. And it was sent out 10 minutes after we asked her for a receipt so we could track the mail. We had to call & email & make appts to get answers and then they charged for it. We were Left feeling unsure & concerned about the case. We had to call them to confirm our scheduled dates & then found out some needed to be rescheduled or were continued. It's supposed to be their job to contact us about important dates. We certainly should not be charged for having to contact them to find out ourselves. After speaking to the new lawyer.. they said that they were still waiting for the discovery from Dickerson law firm. Mr Dickerson called me back one day and told me that the very small refund he was sending took longer because he had to confirm that we had new lawyer & give them necessary info about our case first. That wasnt even true! Our current lawyer did not have it yet for my husbands appointment.. which was weeks later. My husband sent an email saying this is an example of why we had to find a new lawyer, explained it was incompetent and how horrible the firm was to us. Mr. Dickerson was so bothered on my husband's email that he sent an email after and said not to call or email anymore it is unwarranted .. we don't plan on it now that they finally sent over all the necessary documents we needed. Mr Dickerson barely ever contacted my husband back his self. But for this he was able to. He did not like what was said about his firm not doing their jobs that much but.. what about us and how we have been treated for 2 years? We were barely helped and it caused so much stress, unecessary time & a lot of money. This case is so easy to win and there is so much supporting evidence that was easy to get. My husband had to find most of it his self . Mr Dickerson told him to stop and just trust them. My husband tried. If he did fully.. we wouldnt have important evidence and some of it is only available for a short period of time. I don't write many reviews unless I feel it is necessary but this firm added even more stress, time & money for my family. They were supposed to help us. We already feel relieved, less stressed, confident & happier within a month of firing this Firm and hiring a new lawyer. The paralegal here is so hard to talk to and just doesn't seem to care. She says anything to just get away with her faults even if what she is saying isnt true. She gets overwhelmed quick with her work and says she forgets to do things needed or just hasn't gotten to it yet. It is ok to be busy but this is her job. We would understand once or so but this is how they were the whole time. I hope this review helps this firm realize and to just do better. Some people really need help & are having a tough time. Some have to scrounge up or borrow money to hire them. It is sad and very discouraging to be treated this way. Left to just deal with it all for almost 2 years.. even when innocent! I do not recommend this firm

Haven't heard a word from my attorney since May 2023. Just took several thousand dollars & disappeared.

Where to start? Hired in April 2023 & almost lost my house bc he didn't handle my husband's estate. Civil case he claimed he had to "ask the judge" if he could file a motion to set aside. It makes sense now after finding out the judge that signed on a document the person perjured themselves on to get, forged the signature of another judge for a different document & threatened my family if any part of that day was mentioned. My favorite is that not only did Don threaten to have my bail revoked in a CIVIL matter if I didn't agree to extend it but that the other party was the child of his former client & friend of his daughter & partner. Which according to his receptionist, shouldn't be a concern at all. Most of all, I think it speaks volumes that I'm in need of a life saving transplant whose husband died & discovered that the person who caused ALL of this had been watching my every move via my Google they hacked into for the LAST 5 YEARS & reported it to Alamance & Orange County Sheriff's Offices who have not investigated it & nor did Don bother putting it before the judge which would've had this dismissed if I had the same equal protection under the law as the other party. I lost my husband to cancer. I'm in advanced kidney failure while raising 4 kids & Don has done absolutely nothing. 3 false arrests under color of law beginning 11/2/22 & the last 1/26/23 & we still have no idea what I did other than a "post.". No identification of the social media platform, user name, email associated w/alleged account, time, date, no IP address, no MAC address, &/or what it said. Did find that there was a fake account & unauthorized charges made in my name & this same play was pulled by the ADA's former coworker Mike Nifong & his Duke case tho. My advice? Hiring Don is the equivalent of setting your money on fire & still being without an attorney. With the hassle of writing a NC State Bar Grievance & getting your money back which I required almost a month ago after dropping off the information/documents WITH PICTURES showing WHO had access to my account, notarized documents, & pretty much anything I imagined would be useful to back every statement I made in court prior to hiring/ out to Mr. Dickerson. ***Edited to add that he failed to mention that he is related to the other party.

Lauren is professional, kind, thorough, and an all around rock star. What she did for my case I thought impossible. A++

I have worked with Lauren several times across the years. She has been great from the start, and I think she keeps getting better! Lauren keeps you informed with all the pertinent information but does not overwhelm with unnecessary details. She makes sure you understand the process and the hopeful outcomes. And, she is empathetic through it all. TO ALL THE PARENTS OUT THERE: Lauren is the best to help you navigate the situations our children get into!

Attorney Dickerson was the most passionate and understanding attorney that I have met in a long time. He took his time and ask the right questions about my case. I highly recommend his law firm.

It's been 8 years now and he's still in possession of stolen money. Dickerson is a thief! He stole $5000 dollars from me for a divorce. Took the money and did nothing but take advantage of someone who was going though hard times. Don’t waste your time and money check out anyone you hire first. Don’t be fooled by the 4.0 review he’s probably bribed people to say something good about him. I see he has a 4.1 approval rate now. I wonder how much he paid for these positive reviews.
