I had a very long and drawn out child support case that I needed some assistance with. I love it another state and Attorney Lycans was my attorney. She was very helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend her and the other attorney's for your family law needs. Excellent service.

If you're in the market for a divorce lawyer, I highly recommend doing thorough research before choosing one. My recent personal experience was quite disappointing. My lawyer and I had no communication throughout the process, which made things much harder. Matters involving child custody and support were hardly improved, despite the lawyer's promises. I live 4 hours away, and MULTIPLE times did not know if I needed to come down to hearings even the day before. Several times I traveled only to have the case continued. There was no negotiation for my side, and they only went with the opposing council's demands. To make matters worse, my original lawyer bailed halfway through the process and was replaced with someone who didn't care about my case and was downright rude. $11,000 down the drain, and I am in a worse situation custody wise than before. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do your research and choose a lawyer who can effectively advocate for you.

**This review is for the paralegal ONLY, I had no interaction with the lawyer I had wanted to speak to but through her!** I have never, EVER been so disrespected by a complete stranger in my life, especially who's sole purpose is meant to help me in a very stressful legal situation. When this paralegal called me (and I couldn't tell you her name because she mumbled it, but she was Lycans') she was rude, callous, and plain CRUEL about my situation. She "blamed the victim," as they say, and then told me the office couldn't help me even though she had no idea what she was talking about. I've since hired Mr. Hudspeth and he is fantastic. Stay away from this firm.

This is a Top Notch Law Firm. Ms. Sarah Lycans and Ms. Lamb have represented me on and off for over 2 years and have provided the best advice on how the law is implemented in court. My first experience with these people and with a lawyer in general made an already stressful situation even worse. I only spoke with my attorney one time and that was for a consultation and retainer fee. Very poor communication and lack of professionalism. The attorney I dealt with was McNamara, better off paying more and actually getting better representation. The paralegal was ok until I found out they randomly stopped representing/ never formally told me we were done, and they were only still talking with me to be “nice”

We had to go here for adoption related business. I was very surprised pleasantly at the length that they went to make sure everything was airtight and how they made sure we were aware of everything that was happening. Very happy with them and would happily recommend. The attorneys were awesome but even the paralegals were at a level above the norm.

If you’re looking into an attorney for Onslow county you might want to look into other ones before going with Mrs. Lycans. She got me a (somewhat) reasonable order for child custody but after feeling cheated I got two second opinions about my specific situation and both told me that she could’ve done more for me. These other two opinions also had mentioned that Mrs. Lycans had given me incorrect information about moving forward with when my son starts school. I’m not sure if that was because she didn’t want me as a client anymore or what but I would definitely suggest a second option before hiring anyone from this office.
