By far one of the best lawyers gone down hill. He used to be highly rated but word had gotten around that he just wasn't on top of his game. I had a friend who had recently hired him, only to be terribly disappointed. Popkins top priority is basically your money, and if you are hitting hard times, well......so does his services. Popkins was once a five star but has now went to being a three star lawyer. I don't like the way he treats his clients so I'm giving him a mere two stars. Maybe he's lost his passion, who knows, but something he used to have, he just doesn't have anymore :(

I have called his office to find out about my case and every time I call during work hrs...they never answer the phone and if you leave a message you never get a return call....they suck....so i'm looking for a better more reliable lawyer because he sure isn't one....Do not hire him you will regret it thrust me

Yes I wouldn't give it 1 star if it would let me i was charged to have a 70 n a 55 reduced to an improper equipment well thought things were good he got a rear seat belt wich carries a 10dlr fine with no court cost not only did they not lower my attorney fees but he didn't pay the fine for me either but when they called to tell me the verdict I said do I need to pay the fine the lady said no he probably paid it so I asked for her to Check n call me back no call back then I get pulled for suspended license for failure to pay a fine ok well then I'm pissed I call them and I'm nice about it so I pay them the fine over the phone she calls me says everything is good not to mention it still ended up costing me another 150dlrs now I just got pulled over in my wife's vehicle and found out that my license is still screwed up I'm not even going to bother with them I'm going to handle it myself it will cost me a lot less but will never refer them to anyone n if u hire them after reading this less just say u get what u deserve because one day they will cause karma is a b***h

When talked to popping about my case he gave me a price I paid him, after that he would not answer my phone and after a year my case has not been settled yet! Not I'm looking for lawyer to sue him.

He was all about getting a DUI I received dismissed, when toxocolgy report came in he couldn't even understand it, but showed no ethanol in my system, and when we got to court he did absolutely nothing for me, in the time which he was late getting to my hearing, and was more worried about another client he was in court with at the same time. He requested no culpitory evidence from officer, and Did actually no rebuttal ass to I was pulled over for alcohol, and toxicology report showed none in my system, and the judge was in a hurry to leave for a baseball game, and Popkin refused to a continues.... He assured me that it would be dismissed, and he talked a good game, but the Judge stated that he finds State police to be very honest and charged me with a DWI without regard for the Toxicology report that I did have to pay the state back for that was not even taken into consideration, and Mr. Popkin rolled over like a whipped puppy. He is No Lawyer: He requested no Ignore evidence, and since officer was going off his notes, he never objected to his testimony via evidence as he never saw the notes.... He is a court appointed attorney and should be removed as such as well as License to practice law..... He doesn't do any to work prior to court, you cant even speak to him except on walk in from 7-9 and 12-1 and he does absolutely no work in between time you see him at those times....I'm filing a Bar Association complaint against him as well as the judge I voted for by the way..... Did you know that there are no minutes taken in district court in Onslow County.. The entire Court system was a joke, they spent the entire day reducing case as the Judge said if you are UNC Fan which a UNC shirt was hanging on the bench....In court April 4th... The Judge stated that my Inability to take a field sobriety test is ridiculous and there is no health Issue that should prevent that? Vertigo is what I have, and I was greatful I requested the blood work which proves that I had No ethanol in my system! The Judge based is Opinion off his respect for officer, and not off facts, and Mr Popkin allowed that to happen based off his need to get to another hearing, and didn't accept continues when he was told he had 30 because they had a Baseball game to get to!

I paid him 1000$ up front to take my husband's case. He was only going to charge $2000 total which was a great price. But when my husband's charges were dismissed in federal court. Mr Popkin wasn't needed. No refund. He didn't do anything. Oh yeah and you have the hardest time getting a hold of him. He only answers by text when he feels like it. Very unprofessional

Mr. Popkins is the absolute best lawyer for any type of driving violations in my opinion. Very professional and very expedient. Also I feel that his prices are quite reasonable compared to what other lawyers have quoted.

Samuel Popkin is not an honest lawyer. He represented me in a case that I did not know that he is NOT licensed to practice in. He stated that he is a family law attorney, no he is not. He can only practice traffic law. I paid him $3000.00 with the understanding he practices family law. I would NOT recommend this liar to anyone. Because of him I lost my child. He NOT once opened his mouth to represent me or defend me. He showed up to court in his pajamas and bedroom slippers. That is not how a lawyer is suppose to show up to court or any where dressed. My recommendation to everyone is do NOT hire or speak to this person about law of any kind. He will tell you all lies. In my opinion he should be made to return the money that me and the other people who he cheated paid him to represent us when he did NOT!!!!

I paid this person $3000.00 to represent me. At first he acted like he was on my side. Things changed after the first court date. I have lost everything because of him. He does not treat me with respect, My case is still on going 5 yrs. later and I can not get another lawyer because my case has been mishandled. He never speaks for me in the court room and I'm left in the dark on everything.
