Although I conditionally trust in the fairness of the VA compensation process, my prior requests for a rating change were a bit disappointing. This especially in comparison with colleagues having similar difficulties stemming from Agent Orange exposure, who were more successful. For my recent entry back into the bureaucratic process, I opted to seek legal counsel. My choice was Vet Law, and it proved a wise move. I was given a point of contact person and advised where necessary in my communications, I succeeded in receiving fair compensation. I believe the facts should be sufficient, yet I feel the support of knowledgeable professionals encouraged the VA to handle my request, while considering the involvement of an ally like Vet Law. I recommend their assistance in navigating the process for anyone who is first applying or for an appeal.

Years after being injured and treated under WComp from two major falls at work, I needed emergency spinal surgery directly related to the falls. Shortly after surgery while I was recovering, and the bills kept piling up despite being told not to worry, everything’s under WComp, I was told I had never been treated under WComp for a back & neck injury and was responsible for every bill. My next step was finding a lawyer.
