When I introduced myself to Jim Slater he abruptly said "didn't I already talk to you today?" I had never spoken to him prior to this interaction. He was completely dismissive before I had two sentences in let alone what I have going on. He cut me off and went on a long ramble about things that didn't pertain to my situation. I'm not sure if he thought I was a different client perhaps? But if this is how he speaks to clients I am amazed at the reviews I see here. I would describe my interaction with him as having a conversation with Joe Biden on a bad day. I am thankful it started off as poorly as it did vs getting myself invested into having to deal with him for a long period of time.

I worked with Attorney Zurz to obtain a settlement after being bitten by a neighbor's dog. The neighbor was not assuming any responsibility and would not provide any homeowners insurance information. Attny Zurz wasted no time in filing a claim which forced the neighbor to disclose their insurance company. He was well read on the particulars of my claim prior to our first meeting, indicating he spent the necessary time to read all the material. Email messages were responded to quickly. He was very professional and described all challenges I might face. I had complete confidence in him. I saw 2 other attorneys prior to Attny Zurz - that was a waste of time and energy. Rick Zurz advocated tirelessly for me on and off for more than 10 years while dealing with custodial issues. It wasn't fun, but I can't imagine anyone else who I would want to get in there and get his hands dirty for me. Also, he has a style that is very honest, to your face, and blunt. It's super old school, and I love it. You always know where you stand, and you hear the truth. People these days are too busy giving out participation trophies, and trying to make people happy. I don't know about you, but I don't want my attorney getting a participation trophy, I would rather him be a little fierce when he's advocating for me, I'm just saying. That's what you are paying for!
