If you are actively looking for an attorney, please do your research. Do not make the mistake and rush and pay for an attorney like I did. Do your research. Interview these attorneys. Make sure they have your best interest before you hire them. Jim is very unresponsive, unorganized, unprofessional and he shown me he do not care about his clients. He has too much on his plate because all he care about is money. Its quantity over quality with him. He take both court appointed and paid cases which is fine a lot of attorneys do. By all mean get your money but when you taking on too many cases and you start neglect your clients especially your paid clients and present poor work and that's a problem. I paid him $1100 and had to fire him. I gave him the benefit of doubt, I was patient, I didn't call and harassing or text him. I was very professional. He gave me no choice but to fire him. My final straw was when he reschedule my court date and never called me with the new date. He was suppose to call the next day along with setting up a time to go over my case seeing as though we never really went over my case much other then our initial meeting. I gave him until the following week because he may have gotten busy. He still never called, so I called him and he never called me back. That was it. Started looking for a new attorney immediately. I believe I found a decent replacement. I just dropped another $1000 on another attorney to take over my case and pray everything goes well.

JAMES HAUPT IS THE WORST ATTORNEY I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISS FORTUNE OF MEETING! NOT ONLY DID HE SCREW ME OUT OF THOUSANDS HE CHARGED HE JACKED ME AROUND UNTIL THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS RUN OUT SO I COULD SUIT THE TUSCARAWAS COUNTY SHERIFF FOR THE INJURIES THAT THEY DID TO MY BACK THAT ARE PERMANENT!!! I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY I HAVE TROUBLE SLEEPING I HAVE LOST SO MUCH MUSSEL MASS I HAVE TROUBLE WALKING NOW I LOSE MY BALANCE AND FALL AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY! PLEASE PEOPLE I AM NOT LYING MY WIFE AND SOME OF MY FRIENDS THAT WERE GOING TO GO TO COURT FOR ME WILL BACK ME ON WHAT I AM SAYING! FIVE STARS WHAT A JOKE!

Do NOT hire this attorney. He is definitely good at sweet talking your ear off before you hire him but as soon as you give him the money he asks for he completely changes his attitude. I had to call him so many times throughout the weeks in order for him to call me back. This happened on MANY occasions. I understand how busy these attorneys are but there is no reason he should take weeks to get back to you and when he finally did answer his phone he was extremely unprofessional, rude, and our phone calls would last less than a minute because he would rush our conversation through and would not even let me talk. He asked for more money throughout the case in which we gave him. To be specific, we paid him $1,000 extra to take care of a traffic violation from a different county in which he said everything was taken care of. Only to find out months later that he did not take care of the situation and the person he was representing had a warrant for his arrest due to Mr. Haupt not filing the paperwork needed. Every time I called him he would send me straight to voicemail. It took him a couple of weeks to call me back and when he did he didn’t let me speak because he kept cutting me off, he actually LITERALLY yelled at me on the phone and when he tried hanging up I said “Do not hang up I am not done talking to you” (because he didn’t even answer the question I called him for in the first place) he responded, and I quote, “Well I am so stop calling me!” And hung up. I have dealt with many attorneys before and this man is by far the worst at communicating with you and is absolutely disrespectful. I do NOT recommend him. He definitely had a lot on his plate and I would’ve much rather him say he couldn’t take the case than leave us in the dark for months. Aside from being unprofessional he did not give his all in closing our case.

Look no farther if you need a lawyer in his area! You could tell he knew most of the people at the court house and this was his ball court! He did exactly what he said he could do! We spoke with several lawyers and the majority said it was impossible to get done what Mr. Haupt did. 5/5 100%
