I dealt with 2 attorneys. It was really a waste of time. The 1st one did not give me literally even one piece of useful advice after several phone consultations and I felt strongly that he didn't want to be involved with this case. This was a small claims case and I was going up against my sister who used to be a public defender and a public prosecutor for many years in Franklin County. She committed pergury. I sent in an objection to the decision which not surprisingly went her way and my objection was within the 14 days based on when it was shown as "filed". The Clerks office changed the file date online-not on paper, My 1st attorney knew that they did this because he was one of two people who both initially looked online and confirmed to me that they filed at the later date which would have bought me more time. I specifically remember him counting the days and confiming that I had until Monday-July 10th. When he saw the new date that they were claiming to have filed it on, instead of backing me up, he claimed it was that date all along and got angry with me for pressing the issue. My second attorney argued almost vigorously on my sister's behalf against every goal or action I entertained. I will say that at least she looked into the case more than the 1st attorney. She seemed very intelligent and detail oriented...just..not willing to help. This firm is Legalshield so I could say I got what I paid for but I have had Legalshield in another state and it was nothing like my 2 experiences with this firm. In fact..in other states, Legalshield is awesome.
