Chip Mues was my attorney for a very high conflict divorce case. I would definitely recommend him for any divorce case. He listens, is empathetic, and very perceptive. He is skilled and has lots of experience as a lawyer, but he also provided useful recommendations for other services (counseling, support groups, experts when needed). His rates were more expensive than others lawyers I met, but they are well worth it. Even though my case was tough, Chip kept working towards settlement. We attempted mediation, and many other strategies. Chip worked with opposing counsel and the judge and my case was finally settled without any litigation which saved me additional money, time, and allowed for closure. I'm adding to my review because now I have also worked with attorney Joe Balmer for my estate planning documents. Joe is very informative, efficient, and detailed. He made it very easy for me to take care of my estate planning needs. I appreciate that he had me designate POA's-this is something that I did not think about beforehand. I am confident that my estate is managed well, and I can focus on other areas of my life.

For some context, I was married almost 20 years. My separation came out of the blue. I found out my ex was living a secret life for several years. Needless to say, I was shocked and had several other difficult emotions after the abrupt ending. I quickly sought legal advice and  the firm Holzfaster, Cecil, McKnight & Mues, LPA was recommended to me. When I first met with Robert "Chip" Mues, I was not in the best place emotionally and I had significant anxiety after the separation. What I appreciated the most is he listened to me and was empathic as I told my story.  He then provided straightforward legal counsel and addressed each of my concerns and what I might expect, and the exposures I may have in the divorce proceedings. I knew then I was in the right place. My case was a bit complicated and Chip had to navigate several obstacles; his legal expertise was apparent. His years of experience in the Dayton area were also key assets that I believe significantly helped in the process and outcome. Chip and his team kept me informed every step of the way and were responsive to my requests for information/questions. This was very helpful to alleviate much of my anxiety. Chip came through for me and my divorce was finalized very favorably. No way around it, divorce is hard, but Chip and his team helped make it more manageable. He balanced the legal aspects and maintained focus on tasks that needed to be done, but recognized and was never dismissive of the emotional process that comes along in the process of divorce. I would highly, highly recommend Chip and his team if you find yourself in the difficult position of divorce. I also worked with Joseph Balmer, III for estate planning. This was also a very positive experience. He made it simple and he answered all of my many questions.  Another high recommendation.
