I was in an urgent situation and needed representation. I had contact with another lawyer in this firm years ago and she was too busy. After hearing my situation, they recommended Kathy Root. She is a "top lawyer' (most expensive) and I retained her. In hindsight, I should have shopped around, but was new to this experience and was frankly in a panic. I fired Kathy after 5 months and nearly $30,000 spent. She was completely inconsistent, sometimes not responding to emails for several days, even weeks. Follow through was unpredictable and advice was sometimes inaccurate. Significant mistakes were made through the case, and we ended up resolving most of our issues in mediation. My newly hired lawyer is perplexed by some of the work that was done (or not done) and it has taken more money and time to rectify these issues. I now know what it is like to have a true advocate for my situation, something I never felt with Kathy and Gevurtz Menashe.

We worked closely with Sara Winter on updating our wills, healthcare directives and establishing a joint trust. She was extremely knowledgeable, available and personable. Sara was great to work with and answered every questions thoughtfully and with our goals in mind. I highly recommend her and will continue to rely on her in the future to help us manage our family goals.

Unethical. For adults with kids this is not the firm to use. They use the kids' well-being as leverage in the divorce fight. A Gevurtz attorney has blocked obtaining services that would have protected our kid's mental health for nearly a year now. There are other firms that look out for the kids while capably representing their parents. Kids should not have to suffer more than they already do.

Do not choose this law firm for your divorce. Shawn Menashe was supposed to be my attorney. He handed me off to an "associate", Shannon Hall, who did not know what she was doing. Keep looking. You can do better. I did all the side work and received no follow through, when struggling to obtain what was rightfully mine. I complied fully with my stipulations after the divorce was finalized, and when I asked for help, I was talked down to, and ignored. Shawn said I would receive free estate planning after everything was done. No follow through on that either.

I highly recommend Bob Demary for any divorce needs. I was involved with a high asset divorce for over a year. My first attorney was OK, but things were moving slowly. So I switched to hire Bob. After my first appointment with him, I felt for the first time that I had someone who had the experience, knowledge and firepower to advocate for me. He knows about high asset law and has a great team. I really felt that he really cared about me and my case. He encouraged me to do research and to contribute what I knew. He took into consideration my suggestions. He wasn't in it just for the money and encouraged me to take steps that I could to lessen the costs for me. And, at one point, maybe sensing I was low on funds, he gave me a professional discount! Things went as quickly and with as good final result as can be expected. When we met with opposing counsel for the deposition and before the judge, the only thing I could think of was, "Boy, I'm sure glad that Bob is MY attorney!"
