I met with Tim a few months back for advise on where I stood in trying to collect a debt owed on some promissory notes by an individual who I had a judgement against. Tim took the time to understand a disability I live with and tailored our meeting to accommodate. He walked me through several possible scenarios and then reviewed my options based on practicalities and legalities in a manner that was understandable for the layman. While it didn't make sense to pursue the matter at this time, Tim helped me lay out a long term plan for collection on the judgment from this individual. I'm a bilingual liaison for families accessing disability services. I hired Tim and James with Eblen Freed,LLP to negotiate on my behalf with a collection agency's attorney. Last year, while providing hospice care for my elderly mother, I received a demand for payment from a collection agency. It came at the worst possible time for me personally. The crazy thing is I found myself held responsible for a large debt that I did not incur. I was getting nowhere trying to negotiate on my own with the collection agency's attorney. This was a game changing moment that dramatically changed our strategy going forward and would likely not have occurred had Tim not entered the case. Second, James was tenacious in everything he did in representing me. James is strategic, and like other top lawyers, he constantly thinks five or six moves ahead. I place Eblen Freed,LLP at the very top of my list because of ability, dedication, values, communication skills, trial skills, and the overall ability to see the big picture.

Tim represented me and companies in a dispute. He was always informative, responsive and kept things in budget. He connects well with the clients and is very good at settlements as well as litigation if necessary.

I came to Tim about a lawsuit I had apparently lost (but never got served for!) He provided me advice and support for how to address it myself but I chose instead to retain him to handle it for me, as it was really stressful. I appreciated knowing my options, though... (And if circumstances were different, I might have self-advocated using his advice.) Even after my first visit, I left his office feeling a weight off my shoulders. In representing my interests, Tim helped negotiate a very reasonable settlement with the other side and the matter was resolved in just a few months. The cost estimate for his services was both reasonable and accurate. (I even got a small refund on the retainer I paid.) All told, the settlement amount plus his retainer was still much less than the creditor was seeking. I simply can't thank Tim enough for his support and helping me resolve this matter!

Tim Eblen is one of the very few attorneys that actually cares about his clients with genuine concern, then actually delivers the goods without any surprises. The only surprise here is that there still are attorneys out here that tells you up front what he can, or can't do, keeps you informed, answers his phone, and makes good on what he tells you. This man is a hero to me, saving me from a bleak future and garnishment. Anyone having problems with unscrupulous debt collectors or just plain debt, would be well served to go with TIM!
