Initially, he handled my claim well, paying close attention to issues and fighting for me. As time dragged on though, his interest became less and less. Finally, the insurance company began talking about settlement, and he quickly jumped on their train. Pushed for me to give up all rights and take the money they offered. Final straw was when he offered a settlement figure without first consulting the client (me) - which is a breach of ethics. In the end, he sold me out... Steer clear - better attorneys are out there...

I came to Schoenfeld and Schoenfeld in 2017 after a pretty bad accident. It was a lot to deal with on top of all the physical distress I was put through. Spencer and Sal were there for me every step of the way and walked me through every step of the way. If I had a simple or complex question, they'll answered me promptly and were very descriptive and informative. Had an example if I still didn't get it. They really fought for my rights. Especially my rights for the future, being that I have permanent damage. They were in it for the long haul and I truly am grateful and very appreciative for the help and trust I received.

Hire them! They WILL help you! You can trust them! Spencer and his team are truly amazing. I was struggling through the workers’ compensation process and failing miserably. My claim was denied after a year of waiting. Out of work, with minimal medical treatment, I was still badly hurt- basically stuck in a chair- horribly depressed and completely overwhelmed. I met with Spencer to discuss my situation. We chatted for a while then he gave me an overview of how things can work out and possibly options for my situation. He kept me updated about my case and was able to make things work out for me much better than I expected. I’m very happy with how he handled my case and it relieved a lot of stress. I didn’t have to do much on my end. When everything was said and done, I was in a much better place than I could’ve imagined. Before I had met with Spensor I was stressed out about my situation and had know idea how things would work out or if they would work out. Karen represented both my mother and I on a car accident claim. She has a habit of forcing her clients to take low settle amounts as long as she gets her cut. When we told her that we wanted to go to court, she said that we would have to pay her $8,000, this was not stated in he fee agreement. She is not a very honest or ethical person. She said that she couldn't fight to get us more money, but once we no longer had her as an attorney, we were offered nearly $1000 more from the insurance adjuster. And we also got in contact with one of her previous clients. Looks like she also has a habit of exploiting non-English speakers. This client in question calculated her percentage and realized that she had charged him a lot more than she was suppose to. When he brought it to her attention, of course she denied it. And when he threatened to report her to the Oregon State board. She folded. And gave him an additional $3,000. She's not a good person. And should definitely not be practicing with unethical practices such as these.

Ms. Schoenfeld and Christopher Gorton advocated on my behalf after a car accident. Most of my communication was with Mr. Gorton and he responded to my calls and emails quickly and professionally. Ms. Schoenfeld negotiated my settlement and was able to get significantly more than expected. I highly recommend the team at Schoenfeld and Schoenfeld.

From the I moment I hired this law firm I felt like I was working for them instead of the other way around. They never answered my questions or returned calls, they demanded I be available on THEIR schedule. The attorneys couldn't be bothered to attend conference calls with the insurance adjuster. I was left with a legal assistant who didn't bother to find out why the insurance adjuster wanted to interview me. I found out at the time of the interview that it had nothing to do with me and was a waste of time. When their staff was rude and exhibited poor customer service, I was told the staff comes first over any client and I needed to accept it or leave. I left and anyone reading this should look elsewhere for competent legal advice. These lawyers can't be bothered with practicing the law and one of them even said they were too busy to be bothered with my case - this was after they agreed to represent me. You'll find, if you hire them, that they are often away on vacation. AVOID the headache when there are so many other competent law firms to chose from. I am not one to write reviews but, in this case, I feel compelled to warn others of their shoddy practices.
