I received multiple tickets while traveling through Pennsylvania on I-81. Because I live in Virginia, i did not want to travel to court. Mr. Thompson was extremely professional and responsive, always and answering the phone, and helped substantially reduce my fines. He also appeared for me so I wouldn’t have to attend. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The absolute best attorney! I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my case . I had three charges and he was able to get me a suspended sentence and a small fine my first visit at court . As an addict, one of the hardest ways to get to your "own rock bottom" is to get arrested for DUI. While we feel scared, lost, frantic, and hopeless inside, we are normally also met with a society that often seems to want to automatically cancel us, stare down their noses at us and punish us for something they believe we continue to do because we "want to" and that we "could stop if we REALLY WANTED to". Two years ago, I was arrested on my second DUI. I had gotten the first only 3 years prior to that and after that experience, I was convinced I was headed to "The Big House", Upstate, and they were throwing the key away. Convinced that my first experience with a public defender didn't seem right and that I received the sentence I did because my lawyer spent LITERALLY NO TIME AT ALL WITH ME, I asked around for some suggestions for good, local, DUI lawyers and Bill Thompson was a name I heard more than once. In fact, Bill came HIGHLY recommended by a connected Dunmore business owner I'm friendly with. After hearing his name a few times when I asked the same, "Who would you say is THE BEST DUI Lawyer in the area", question, I decided to get in touch with him. I texted Bill that day, fully expecting to get some administrative assistant who would "pass the message along to Mr. Thompson" and never hear anything again until court day, when I'd meet him there 5 minutes before, where he would make sure I signed papers that claimed that I felt my attorney listened to me and understood my case, and he would work his 10 minutes I'm the courtroom as if he really worked. Then, I'd go off to jail, and he'd be off to vacation in Cabo with the money he made from "representing me". This was, after all, what had happened during my first DUI case, when I was out of any significant work and I was assigned a public defender, but what REALLY happened when I called Bill Thompson, was the impetus that I needed in order to change the trajectory of my life. After texting Bill Thompson on that May day, I waited no more than five minutes before hearing back from his office and what shocked me most is that HE replied to me - HIMSELF! He immediately started working, even before formally taking my case. His first move was to deescalate my trepidation and to listen. He gave me the time and space to tell him my entire story from start to finish. He asked the right questions and validated my answers. His gentle, kind words helped to significantly change my heart rate. The extreme and intense empathy I felt from Bill was enough to remove the bile that had built up in the back of my throat in response to thinking about my first experience with a DUI lawyer. His expertise and knowledge of the laws and how they had changed and his personal knowledge of each judge on the bench and offering second chances, had me able to eat solid food again! I was very cautious with my excitement until I realized that my last question of, "Will I be able to afford you?", was answered with a resounding, "YES!!", as he explained payment plans and the like. For the next year, Bill stood by my side, through thick and thin. He was one text away, no matter the time. He could meet with me any day I needed to talk. He would even answer ANY OTHER law question I had for him!! I wasn't fully aware of how amazing Bill's representation skills were until I had a counselor, who had been in the profession for some time, convinced that I was working under cover for law enforcement, because I'd received what he said to be, "the lightest ever sentence for a second DUI"!! The truth of this situation isn't that Bill Thompson, "got me out of my DUI" or "got me off on some technicality". Bill liked me when I couldn't like myself. He guided me through the steps that I needed to take in order to get well. He encouraged me to do things the right way! I could sing his praises for a few more pages, but I'm out of space. He was straight up about everything , very quick with responses and he cared. He called and checked on me periodically due to my anxiety, he would reassure me and calm me down.
