From the first time I spoke to Atty. Munley to present, he has been the “calm” I needed in my “storm”. I never thought I’d ever need a defense attorney and was scared of what could happen with my case. Atty. Munley was open, honest, and educational and helped me to prepare for my case while acknowledging my anxiety and treating me like a valued human. He and his paralegal are easily accessible and always get back to you quickly. The night before my hearing he called me to speak positive words and alleviate my anxiety. The outcome of my case was good, with a lesser charge (M) and the minimal amt of ARD. I am grateful for Atty Munley and would recommend him to anyone in need. On the day of my hearing , he was prepared well and after observing other attorneys, I knew I had chosen the best. I can resume my life now and move forward, thanks to Bob. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Robert Munley is not only an excellent lawyer, he actually cares about you as person. my case was very embarrasing because I was under the influence and caused harm to someone else. this resulted in a simple assault charge. he worked well with the DA and Judges to make a deal that didn't include jail time. I can't thank him enough for his time, care and concern. I am 100% certain that HE IS THE BEST AROUND! thank you again Bob for everything you did for me. I will see you in a year to see if we can get them to drop the probation early. thanks for believing in me when I didn't even believe in myself. <3

Bob was very optimistic from the time I first met him through the day we went in front of the judge. He was always on time for our court dates, professional, and kind. If he did not answer the phone, or had to take a message from his secretary, he was very prompt getting back to me if I had any concerns or questions for him. He was able to get me from a tier 3 DUI to a tier 2, which may not sound like it, but it is a big deal. The judge, in my opinion, was a little snotty, but Bob did his best with her. I am grateful for all his help throughout this ordeal.

Chose Bob after meeting w/ a few other lawyers. Bob not only charged me a fair amount, he was kind, compassionate, and with me every step of the way. He filed everything quickly and got me through the PA ARD program fast, affordable, and was always there for me. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Bob. He was amazing. He listened to me and walked me through everything so I never had to question what I needed to do. He always answered my calls, called me right back, and responded to my emails. I am so grateful and will recommend his service to anyone. Thank you Bob!

I called the Schuh Law Firm to find out about possibly hiring Attorney Schuh to represent me for DUI charges. The future of my hard-earned career was in jeopardy because of these charges, and I was very anxious. During my initial phone call with him, our conversation was not rushed, and he was understanding, non-judgmental and positive about the outcome. Attorney Schuh was extremely knowledgeable with my case because of his affiliation with the National College for DUI Defense and being an instructor for sobriety detection. If I called him with any questions, he or his staff would return my call the same day or the following day. The DUI charges were reduced, I was accepted into the ARD Program, and all charges were expunged from my record before it could affect my career.

Mr. Clark has initially hired to negotiate and develop a gas lease for property owned in Pennsylvania. As time progresses all contact was at my initiation. He failed to ask what we were concerned about on the property, what long term goals we had nor did he offer suggestions as to what we should be concerned about. He did offer a legal document which was a page taken directly from a natural gas company document list.

Doug reviewed gas contracts already signed. I find the younger generation to be more direct and to the point. But like anything it cost money. My experience is quit extensive over 30 years with lawyers. I find his fees reasonable in today market and he does not over value himself. He is willing to keep learning about the business.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Peckville, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
