After my Canadian fiancé, Brad, and I got engaged in October 2019, we immediately applied for the K1 Fiancé Visa. But then 2020 happened. First, I got all the paperwork. Second, he over charged me thousands of dollars I paid him in cash. He actually was aggressive towards me at a hearing. The police didn't catch me or see me do anything wrong. He let them charge me the maximum fines without an argument/fight. I guess old habits kicked in and I reached out to him from successful outcomes decades ago. Could have done it on my own and saved $9,000 for three appearances. Still talks a good game but doesn't back it up.
