Under extreme stress and time constraints (hours) with complex tax issues, Penniann made the time to talk to me, gave me sound advice, and didn't make me feel like an idiot. Dear Penny.
Where to start, I came from a family that the Patriarch makes the decision (right or wrong deception or not). I contacted Penny some sixteen months ago when my brother showed up at my home with
a codicil. I was told my mother had a trust in 2010 this was a complete falsehood. He had pilfered my mothers accounts created a mortgage on her paid for home and sold our family cabin. During which I was never told of any of these transaction (remember I as a woman am not allowed to question). When I found Penny she was so understanding and took my case to protect my interests and my mothers legacy. She is a fighter not intimidated by the court system or the family that represent those that mean you harm. I was most impressed that she was always available and responded even on vacation with her family. Another example: her daughter was in collage and a close friend had passed away, she picked up her phone to take my call (above and beyond the call of duty) yet still comforted her daughter. They don't make people like that anymore (remember I said people not just lawyer) Oh she's a lawyer,someone you can trust to always be there and prepared, and have the ability to explain the complex legal system for myself and husband to understand. I strongly think if you are in my position you should speak to her, before you are deceived by conviction that program you for failure (to be subservient) you deserve answers. Penny will get them!

In addition provided a comprehensive Buy/Sell Agreement for our owners and provided legal counsel on other corporate documentation. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. Frank Leffingwell's office prepared an employment agreement for me so that I could have all my current employees to sign it. I had not done this previously because another attorney had informed me many years ago that such agreements are not enforceable unless my practice has trade secrets I wanted to protect. And I did not think that we had any such trade secrets. Frank explained to me that such agreements are enforceable for a couple of years even without our practice having trade secrets. And that this is long enough to provide me the protection that I desired. His firm also prepared an excellent employment agreement for me within a couple of weeks and all of my current employees have signed it. Now I can rest easier about the future.

Pete was extremely helpful in preparing all the paperwork we needed. We asked him to create a trust in the event that my husband and I died at the same time as we have an infant daughter. He guided us through the whole process, taking his time to ensure that we understood everything and were comfortable. I did not know much about trusts when we started, and Pete was excellent at presenting all the information clearly and providing examples for me. He asked us questions that I did not know to ask, or had not considered, to ensure that we had a thorough document that would cover many contingencies.

After speaking with a number one estate planning lawyers I decided to hire Whitney Sorrel in large part based on his ability to communicate clearly. By "clearly" I mean he was able to explain exactly what he would be doing and the purpose of completing an estate plan.
What followed was even better. He listened to what I wanted while at the same time challenging me, in a very positive way, as to the wisdom of my choices. In the end, the final document represents my wishes while protecting assets and future finances.
In addition, his personal style direct yet friendly fit perfectly with the way I prefer to do things. I would recommend Mr. Sorrel very highly.

Yes, I can be a bit dramatic, but let me say it again, WoW! I liked his picture and "ready for a courtroom showdown" so gave him a cold call. He was the most gracious, well mannered attorney I've spoken to. I'm a Paralegal and have a pending probate case so that says a lot! Aside from his excellent manner and professionalism, the guy knows his stuff. I have been through five (thought it was only 3:) probate attorneys for the last 9 years and Mr. Hankin gave me information that was pivotal to the success of my case; information that I should have already been told. I know, where was he 9 years ago! Let me tell you, he would have been my attorney and this case would have come to a conclusion years ago. I recently posted a review of this attorney but my review may have been premature, as we were not yet finished completing our exchanges. Since my earlier review Mr. Hankin wrote to me again. He shed tremendous light on the one pressing question that baffled me, and he did so in a professional manner.
My initial aim was to utilize his services in the Appellate Courts, but it appears my case lacks the "teeth" for a successful appeal. If that were not my unfortunate predicament I'd most assuredly hire Mr. Hankin. Sometimes the devil is in the details. He's a details oriented attorney who takes the time to explain matters to his clients and prospective clients.
I can't speak to other areas of his law practice, but for anything pertaining to California Trusts or Probate matters he's the "go-to" attorney!

My father was an 81 year old man who spent a month in hospital (some kind of procedure every week). He almost died a couple of times. He then went to rehab for a couple of months. Immediate family and dr's agreed he needed assisted living and then possibly go home. A great niece who he may have seen twice went and got him. Within 2 months she had a new will leaving her everything. She alienated him from everyone. Less than a year he was dead. A friend called to offer me condolences a week later and that is how we found out. I went on Avvo site hunting an attorney and found Jeffrey Kuhns. He was sympathetic, professional and very knowledgeable. At our consult he advised that he couldn't do what we wanted and needed to do. He referred us to someone he knew could. I cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you Jeffrey!

After inheriting my grandmothers property, it was a tough time as you could imagine and I had no idea who to turn to with the process. We originally hired a lawyer whom could not answer basic elementary estate questions, which lead us to replacing her. We then hired Mr. David Yergey, we were very pleased how imformative he was and knew we made the right decision. Mr. David Yergey was very professional, responsive, and urgent with every bit of the process. The legal work that goes into transferring property can be stressful but David made it easy to get through. We hired Mr. Morrison to establish a living trust for our estate. With a new child in our family, property in multiple states, and assets we needed to ensure remained with the family, it was important to us that a document be prepared which outlined all of our wishes. We met in June 2010 in a meeting with my mother regarding her trust, three months later she passed.
Upon my very first call to Richard he immediately guided me step by step. Sometimes day by day, it was such a great loss for me, but he always answered my calls, always encouraged me and always had my best interest as well as the beneficiaries at heart.

Ron clearly knew the ins and outs of estate work, for which we hired him. He made me and my family feel we were in very capable hands after a most trying event, the loss of a beloved family member. Ron returned e-mails and calls almost immediately, often within a few minutes. He was thorough and detailed in his responses and in our meetings as well. He is capable of very assertive conduct when need be but for us as clients he was polite, friendly, and attentive to our questions and needs while being professional. My wife and I just needed to a reinstatement of our out dated trusted from another state. Former home and beneficiaries had changed. We went through two different law firms in Tucson before finding Beth. Our estate is simple all we needed was a couple changes ; home and beneficiaries. Firm 1. had us sign a ridiculous legal contract, charging us $3,800.00. Stung us along for over4 mos. in wasted meetings.Firm 2. Wouldn't even talk to us unless we signed a contract with a $250.00 retainer, and a cost of $3,200.
Beth took my phone call and free consultation meeting. She is very proficient, kind, and listens to you needs. Doesn't try to push you into something you don't need. Gives good advise of the law, and makes you understand it in laymen terms. Doesn't over fill your head with a bunch of " legal terms" that are totally confusing.

Having been involved last year in settling a relatives' estate with nothing more than a software generated, one-size-fits-all Will, we knew we wanted something more comprehensive than that for our Estate.
